Reno VA Medical Center

"For four year's they told me i couldn't use the south lyon county medical center in yerington. They lied to me, other veterans were using it the entire time! Anybody giving this place a five star rating is smoking crack! I've been stuck trying to use this place for over twenty years. They have screwed up everytime I needed help. I stopped asking! I hate being a veteran because of this place. I couldn't even get the flippin note from the moron hack doctor when I need to drop out of college. I don't trust these people at all. Any complaints or problems will just be ignored. The last time I was there the patient experience coordinator was so high on anti anxiety medication I couldn't even understand what he was saying. I hate being a veteran because of the moron pampered employees who work at this hospital. It's like being tied to a dead body. All it is a dead weight. dragging me down. But at least there are tampons in the men's restroom and I can get the party drug ketamine for free. This administration is terrible! I can't wait till they all get fired and replaced with artificial intelligence. Thanks for screwing my life. I hope their kids get drafted and sent overseas so they can come back and get the same treatment I received."

"I am profoundly grateful for the kindness, compassion and care I have recieved over the years through the VA Heath Care System, and the Reno VA is no exception. I was reminded of that again this evening when I dashed in at the last second to pick up a prescription and was able to be efficiently seen & diagnosed for another issue. "This va is horrible. 90% of the staff are rude as a starting point. Cannot get mental health care here after being seen at other va's for ptsd for almost a decade. They often delay, reschedule & cancel appointments/ surgeries. Not a single drop of hope or help from their leadership. The patient experience office doesn't answer the phones & if you leave a message and they call you back then go buy a lottery ticket because you're lucky. We deserve better and everyone should be ashamed of this entire medical system."

"Reno VA is by far one of the best facility in the country. I've lived in multiple states and Reno is far and above any other VA I've used in the past. I hardly ever used VA services in other states because the service was so poor. I prefer the Reno VA although I have private insurance. The coordination of care is excellent. The ER is efficient and they don't take forever figuring out the issue. If, you need to be admitted they get you admitted and to a room, your not in the ER for hours just waiting around."

"The Reno veterans hospital is the best hospital or medical facility I've ever been in. Everyone there treated me with respect was knowledgeable helped me at every turn and was all around the best experience I've ever had in any kind of medical facility bar none. I cannot begin to describe how attentive professional friendly and sympathetic everyone who works there has been towards me. if every medical facility was run as well as the Reno VA, there would be no complaints about in patient health care . My particular situation was and infected put I had no idea where the infection came from but my foot swelled up like a coffee can I almost lost my leg and I thought for sure was going to lose my foot and they managed to save both and I am nothing but grateful for what they did for me. I thought my condition was much less serious than it was when it first manifested itself and I should have gone to the hospital days sooner than I did when I arrived there was no admonishing me for not coming in sooner there was no second guessing they got right on it they had a great surgical team that corrected my problems I'm not going to go into detail there's no point but I was very lucky to have been where I was when this occurred. If I had been any place else in the country I dont think I would have gotten the level of care concern and service that I received and I probably would have lost a limb. I will be forever grateful to the doctors and staff ."
