"Our to-go place for buffet on the weekends, when we are visiting Reno. We tried their Samosas today before making our trip back to California and they were an absolute delight. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the spice level all can enjoy. Try for yourself."
"I love Indian food and Taste of India hands down has the best in Reno. I’d literally go for the Fish Pakora alone (so flakey and beautifully seasoned) but literally every dish I’ve had is incredible, vegetarian and meat. They also make a chili paste in-house that I would buy by the jar if I could. All that, and service is exceptional. It’s not the coziest spot, it’s not the most poppin spot, but for delicious food and the sweetest service in all the land, it’s THE spot and one of my favorite restaurants in Reno."
"Ordered shrimp curry and vegetable jalfrezi, disappointed with jalfrezi. Shrimps were fine and the curry for both dishes were the same with exactly same taste and spices."
"Family-friendly Indian buffet with delicious dishes and timely service. Plenty of parking, a reasonable price, and a comfy arrangement of butcher block eating tables. The owner of the eatery is quite pleasant, checking in with customers to replenish beverages and tidy tables. Try their freshly baked, crispy, thin tandoori naan served with lamb curry or Tandori chicken. Vegan bombay potatoes, Spring Vegetable Bhajia (crispy vegetable Fritters with scallions, onion, bean, carrots, and sugar snap peas), samosa (fried pastry with a savoury filling, including ingredients such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas) are addictive and flavorful. Lamb curry contains delicate, soft flesh that is not overly perfumed and has a tangy tamarind taste. Tandori chicken has a somewhat spicy flavor and soft meat that has been marinated meticulously. Indian Masala Chai (spices milk tea) and Mango Lassi (sweet mango yogurt drink) are two more refreshing refreshments."
"Foremost, the buffet is only open on weekends. From the outside, this forlorn building adjacent to a hotel gives the impression that they are not in business, at least that was my impression. Once inside, the Indian music and flavorful aromas are convincing that they're open. For a "King of Buffets" and with plenty of reviews suggesting their buffet, I was surprised to learn that it's only offered on Saturday and Sunday. So I had a "thali" (sampler) plate of chicken tikka masala, sag paneer (stewed spinach with cubes of some odd kind of cheese that more resemble tofu), brinjal (eggplant) curry, dal (lentils) curry, rice, a potato samosa, and naan (unleavened bread). Foremost, the samosa was perfect. Light and flakey with a savory potato and pea center. Served with the traditional samosa sauces of tamarind and mint. Also, the naan was very good. Everything was good, savory, and as expected. This is a nice find and would be a solid weekend lunch trip. If you're going during the week, they have an extensive menu which I've added below."
