"Quiet and relaxed. Was able to enjoy a meal without a waitress bugging every five minutes if everything was fine. Food and drinks all came out in a timely matter. Nothing was undercooked. I have came twice this week because of how yummy it is!"
"Everything was good, black plates are small this will be good for wife and red plate is medium with for husband."
"Great food. The manager is completely unprofessional. I was gifted a gift card for Genghis Grill, I verified it in front of the waitress that it had money on it. It wasn't ringing up on their scanner. The manager refused to do absolutely anything about it. Forcing me to pay cash when I intended to use the gift card. In my opinion, with over 10 years of retail experience, this is completely unprofessional as a manager. The manager should really think twice about there job as there's plenty of people in this economy that would love to have there job, and wouldn't be as rude and unprofessional. You could have at least comped the meal or given a discount considering a family member of mine is now out 50$ in gift cards. And I had to pay $50. Other than that the food was good my hat goes off to the cook and waitress. Thank both of you."
"I have mixed feelings about the food here. Back when I lived in Austin, Texas, Genghis and other mongolian shield joints were a mainstay for myself and my late fiancee. Haven't had any for anywhere between six to seven years, I had high expectations. I'm pleased that the formula hasn't changed since the last time I visited a Genghis. Now, my chief complaints that led me to rate the food with ONLY two stars out of five you may not agree with. Genghis Grill is supposed to be an Asian stir fry joint where you choose your own ingredients and the amount of each to create your own dish. That has not changed, but the ingredients have been severely revised since. Where I expected to find a series of inspired and delicious Asian sauces and ingredients, I found a selection of ingredients that could better be used to make an omelette. Black Beans, mexican-seasoned vegetables, pepperoni, ham, meatballs, mexican-marinated meat selections. I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked out their ingredients. All they had to make an Asian bowl like I used to create were: unmarinated chicken, marinated steak (unspecified), raw mushrooms, bell pepper, jalapeno (that one's kind of on the border), sliced onions, sesame sauce, salt and pepper (I should have added some salt, not knowing how bland the result would be!), garlic water (a mix of minced garlic and water, I suppose), and a teriyaki sauce (neither sweet nor savory once cooked). If I had wanted to create an omelette, their selection would have been perfect, but no, I wasn't there for on the border fare. You get to choose your rice, fried or not, and pay extra for scrambled egg (50 cents). I had their iced tea mixed with lemonade to make an Arnold Palmer with a refill. The waitress made no objections and was quite friendly and accommodating. Ah, but she did make one mistake. At first I thought that because soy sauce wasn't offered with the ingredients nor the table they had none to offer. But on my way out, my waitress was enjoying her own bowl with a decanter of soy sauce sitting next to her. Needless to say, I wasn't offered any. Had I the option of adding some to my bowl, I might have given them an extra star or two. The meats were cooked excellently, by the way. Nothing was raw. But since the result was uninspired (and I certainly did my best to put everything in it that fit, including the few seasonings they had that would compliment the creation I desired, to create a decent umami... but not knowing how things taste individually, it's a bit of a roll of the dice. Yes, they do have little spoons to try things, but I didn't think it would be necessary to pretest) In essence, the two stars were given for the quality of the food that they offered, also due to the lack of Asian ingredients, no soy sauce at the table, and the result being adequate at best."
"It's my 3rd time going here because the wife likes it. Don't have one near us back East and that's the reason why haven't been to it more. Seems to take 3 trips to figure out how to get the best deal because it has a learning curve. Despite all that it was really good and they had great people working there, which these days is not easy to find, definitely will be going there next time we are in the area."
