"Didn't camp , just went for drive and decided to go see the falls. Was a well established track saw wildlife and a beautiful wonderful waterfall. Many smaller falls along the way only did the shorter hike to the falls as we got there late and it was raining. Will definitely recommend for sight seeing....... as for camping the power plant across the lake os a turn off but I will definitely return for an over night stay and to hike the other 2 trails."
"We have camped as well as stayed in several cabins at Lake Catherine State Park. We've also enjoyed the trails. It's a small and beautiful campground located close to Hot Springs, offering a nice option of adventuring in the city, walking Garvan Gardens nearby, or enjoying peace on the lakefront. The staff is exceptional."
"Great trails. The lake beach was low and yucky looking, but we were there late in the year. The facilities are clean and neat. They take really good care of the buildings and mown areas. We enjoyed the outdoors and walking the dogs."
"Great place for hiking! Most of the trails are shaded. The trails give you great views of the lake and the trees. The falls branch waterfalls, unfortunately was not running at the time I went, which was mid October. If you wish to see the waterfall flowing, you will have to do research of what season the falls flow. We also saw deer on our hike too. Bring some food so you can hang out at the picnic tables near the parking area. Plenty of parking."
"Beautiful state park, incredibly well kept, with clearly marked trails. Not sure if entry is always free but the day we went it was, which is definitely not the case for state parks in my home state. The park had many different activities, but we only came to hike and see the waterfall. I can definitely see myself returning to enjoy the beach and maybe some kayaking. We also visited the visitor center during our trip, the employees were very nice and helpful."
