"I lived nearly three years of residency at The communities of River Crossing, and I can confidently say that it has been an outstanding experience. Under the new management of Marissa, the quality of service and professionalism has truly elevated the living standards within the community. From the moment Marissa assumed her role, her dedication to ensuring resident satisfaction was evident. Her proactive approach to addressing concerns and her willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of tenants truly sets her apart. Whether it was resolving maintenance issues promptly or organizing community events to foster a sense of belonging, Marissa consistently demonstrated her commitment to creating a positive living environment. Beyond Marissa's exceptional management skills, the apartment complex itself boasts numerous amenities that enhance the overall living experience. The modern facilities, and convenient location make it an ideal place to call home. Additionally, the responsive maintenance team ensures that any issues are promptly addressed, contributing to a stress-free living experience. One aspect that particularly stands out is the sense of community fostered within the complex. Marissa's efforts to organize resident events and encourage interaction among neighbors have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether it was a holiday gathering or a summer barbecue, these events provided opportunities for residents to connect and build relationships. Overall, my time here has been nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to Marissa and her team’s support. I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment complex to anyone seeking a comfortable, convenient, and community-oriented living experience."
"I wanted to acknowledge that the current management has really stepped up, and is working to make our River Crossing Community cohesive, and secure. I appreciate all the efforts to make sure the property is in top condition, lead by the current property manager, Marissa. Another property management team member -Andre, also has been especially helpful and fixed an issue in our home that hadn’t been fixed by past management staff for years. This fix was done efficiently with his knowledge of the solution… so much unnecessary stress is gone because he made us a priority immediately. The property’s above staff has showed their impressive communication skills when speaking with residents, including my family. The buildings improved condition and aesthetic, and the staff’s professionalism in the office, is so appreciated, genuinely. They model the attitude and standards all property management team staff should hold themselves too. Thanks again!"
"We did not even get to tour. The person with the building was 45 minutes late for the showing, and then disappeared leaving me sitting in the overheated lobby. If they cannot even honor the scheduled time, I cannot imagine how horrible the building management is for its tenants. Yikes. Edit: Not communicating a genuine emergency is still bad form when you have two prospective customers who took off work to be there. You were dismissive and inconsiderate, so nobody should look at your units. You cannot even apologize for it."
"Despite the high cost, this property has been the worst living experience for me. From the application process, the staff, Andre I dealt with was mean and lacked professionalism. Upon applying for the apartment, it remained vacant for two months without any residents. On the move day, the office charged me for the garage but failed to provide the garage keys due to programming issues. Upon entering the apartment, an unpleasant, musty smell emanated from the wet carpet. Despite having a two-month window for preparation, the carpet wasn't adequately cleaned. My request for a carpet replacement was denied, and they insisted on shampooing it again. The external temperature was 25 degrees, and the heater wasn't functioning, leading to a nightmarish experience for my family and one-month-old baby. Moreover, all the appliances were old and poorly maintained; the dishwasher made noise, the microwave was greasy, and the washing machine kept the soap on the clothes. Although I anticipated all apartment keys to be functional, I had to wait for two hours in front of the apartment due to a malfunctioning key. Despite their replacement attempts, the key still didn't work, necessitating another visit to request a functional one. Andre from the office asked me if I had keys; I said yes, I have them. Then he came to the unit and told me he needed all the keys to reprogram. I told him, yes, I have the keys, but that doesn't mean that they are all in the unit right now. My suggestion to program the available keys was dismissed with a remark, "You don't have to be smart to understand that." Taking my grievances to the manager, Marissa, I expressed my dissatisfaction from the first moment of moving in. However, she wasn't receptive, and my loud discussion about the issues led her to ask me to leave her office. I lived in this facility in 2014, and the experience was great, which led to my return this year to find out the experience got horrible!"
"My mother is a disabled senior citizen who lives in this apartment community and her experiences have been pretty terrible for the amount of money she’s paying to live there. She misplaced her keys and went to ask maintenance to let her into her apartment when she was told by MARISSA W. that she would have to pay $150 to receive assistance and another $150 for a new key. My mom then requested a copy of her lease to verify these bogus charges and was told she would have to pay .50 cents per page. I arrived to my mom’s home to assist her with this ridiculous situation by asking for the business cards for the property manager and her supervisors. I received two sticky notes with handwritten information on them and the generic office number that the staff rarely answers. We again asked for a copy of my mom’s lease and now we’re told “my computer is being used by my boss Doug Rock so I’m unable to give your mom a copy of her lease”. My mom never received any assistance or a call back from anyone in management as of today which is approximately two weeks ago now but luckily she found her keys fairly quickly AND a copy of the lease which didn’t mention any of the charges we were told by MARISSA W. The treatment we received from MARISSA W. and DOUG ROCK was disgusting and shamefully unprofessional!! Moreover, there is constant poop on the ground all around the property, there was poop inside of the building in the hallway, the elevator is often broken, and groups of people are smoking marijuana directly in front of the entrance without any regard for others. Highland Park is a beautiful area BUT The Communities of River Crossing is poorly managed by inconsiderate and dishonest people and is need of staff who are caring and professional. The building is deteriorating and no person should have to live in those conditions especially my beautiful loving mother who is the best grandmother in the world!! Thank God mom will be moving out very soon which is the best choice for her well-being and mental health."
