"Very nice historic hotel. We used the valet for parking and just left it parked the whole weekend. There is a shuttle at the hotel for close drop offs is needed but you can walk and tour downtown. Restaurant is nice, great bar staff, the fitness center is 3 rooms deep! Quiet night's sleep. Very helpful, courteous staff. Will definitely come back and stay when the weather is warmer."
"I took my girlfriend here for brunch for her birthday. The website had two brunch menus - brunch buffet and ala cart. I initially expected to have the option but the only option was ala cart. Not a big deal but a little disappointing. Dining room was empty but we were seated right next ti the payment station anyway so we were constantly interrupted by that, and the waitress was so nice but hovered. I ordered shrimp and grits while my wife ordered eggs Benedict. Her meal was fine, nothing exceptional or terrible. My meal was honestly disgusting. The grits were overwhelmingly sweet, I could barely eat them. They have chipotle honey and I asked the actress if it was normally incredibly sweet and she asked the chef, who said it’s a little sweet and the saltiness of the shrimp balances it out. I ended up just eating the shrimp without the grits because when I paired the two, the shrimp was overpowered totally by the sweetness and it was gross. It was disappointing. Service was great, though, and our waitress was sweet. She even lit a candle in my girlfriend’s hashbrowns and sang to her for her birthday. She made up for the disgusting grits and wasted 25-30 bucks I spent on them."
"We came to the hotel for the Christmas brunch at the Drake restaurant. It was our first time visiting this historical building. The food was delicious and the surroundings very enchanting. The service was marvelous and felt great there. There were various Christmas trees around the hotel, each one with a different decoration style. How impressive!"
"My experience at the St Paul Hotel was very good they have valet parking and you can pay for hourly or all night there. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The room was clean and the decor was very elegant and old-fashioned vintage. A very historical location seems to have been there for a long time I would love to know more about the history of it. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes downtown St Paul and the history of it. It's a cool place to stay."
