"Onsite management is nice and are great at responding to any issues. The company that owns the property enforces some childish rules. I.e. we're not allowed to burn scented candles. Like, actually."
"I've lived here for 4 years and have been relatively pleased with everything. PROS: The property is clean and always maintained. Management responds to questions and concerns quickly-- the previous manager was too strict (I accidentally left a bag on the balcony the day I moved in and received a text message the next morning telling me I couldn't store anything on the balcony...) but the new managers are a bit more lax, although they introduced a new rule about not being able to burn any candles/incense, which I understand but still... The garage is an extra charge but is totally worth it-- it has been a blessing in the Minnesota winters and summer heat, not to mention, I have guaranteed parking when the lot gets full since I get home from work late. The gas station next door is quite convenient, and the nearby bus line has been a life saver. The trail along Shepard Road and the Minnesota/Mississippi River is an easy option to get outdoors throughout the year. And being located right off Interstate 35E and within a few minutes of Highway 5 to 494 makes commuting fairly easy. CONS: My unit is next to the coin-laundry room (it would be nice to have updated machines that take card) and the noise doesn't bother me at all but it is such a challenge to get an available machine with so many other tenants trying to do the same-- I time the machines so I know exactly when to get my stuff out because I want to be respectful of other tenants and have had on multiple occasions, someone just remove my stuff. Other times, I couldn't get a machine because other tenants left their stuff for hours. Most times, I'd rather just lug all my laundry to the laundromat a few blocks away. The rent has steadily gone up every year but nothing too terrible in my opinion. There are a couple of companies in the vicinity, so trucks at all hours of the day and night can be a potential nuisance if you don't like the noise. For the most part, other tenants keep to themselves but on occasion, children can be heard running up and down the halls."
"Old decent clean apartment, the trials and whatnot around the Mississippi is a plus but the area is just too noisy to relax indoors with the trucks moving in an out. There is literally a huge distribution center across the street operating 24/7. If you’re desperate it’s worth it. Rent is pretty cheap but given the market it’s this property is a bit over price in my opinion."
"It's near some nice trails and the building/surrounding area feels safe. My experience with the management on property has been good, they respond in a timely manner and even helped me get my car out of the snow. It's an older apartment so some units are more updated than others. It's nice having a good sized bedroom, walk in closet and washers/dryers on my floor. My unit faces the parking lot and with it being on the third floor, the sun beating down on the roof and heat rising makes it really warm. My thermostat is at its lowest setting and I still found myself opening my window in the winter to let the heat out. The trucks are loud and it can be at any time. It can be hard to sleep with the window open because of that."
"I live in a one bedroom on the first floor. Pros: affordable ,nice size bedroom, walk in closet , walk out balcony, view of Shepard road , and access to trail, convenient parking, was able to get a garage within 8 months of living, gas station within walking distance , close to MOA. Cons: no washer/dryer on first floor , not enough cabinets space on kitchen, wish there was more storage space, VERY NOSY kids above, jumping all hours of the night, also kids running up and down the halls, huge semi trucks frequently park on the side street , where is clearly states No truck parking , it can get loud at night with semi trucks passing through , winter time was terrible, plows do not pass through the side street in a timely manner , which makes it impossible to leave your home without getting stuck. I’ve gotten stuck in the main lot many times."
