"I had such a positive experience touring The Mason and working with the leasing office. Jayden was incredible, she followed up with me consistently during my apartment search and was very responsive to all my questions."
"This is a great place to live. A reasonable rent, spacious common areas, new and modern apartments, and most importantly great management team. Shelbi and the team respond in a timely manner to any problem or request. In addition, an available emergency phone number allows to request services for emergencies at any time of the day every day (24/7). Responses are fast and very efficient."
"I really enjoyed living at The Mason. The space is well designed and makes daily life easy, efficient, and a pleasure. Also, there are so many useful amenities! The gym is well equipped, and the sauna is a huge bonus. The inner courtyard has a great layout and is full of fun and unexpected details. The management team is incredible! They communicate clearly and bring so much warmth, kindness, and personality to their interactions — really a joy to work with! They also really invest in cultivating community and make The Mason feel more than just an apartment building."
"It is not good place to live, lots of problems and overpriced. Not sure if some of 5 stars are robots or paid ads. The management office staff are very passive aggressive, smiling but not helping. Saying things that never happen. One of these is easy parking around The-Mason. They said there are spots for open parking, but after moving, they said no spaces. We can see empty spots. Parking in the area is extremely hard and always ends with problems or police. We saw police investigating many times here. We had scratches on cars because of parking outside. The underground parking has many spots for compact cars, but trucks and EVs are problems. Towing signs and towing trucks are everywhere. Street parking is even harder in winter. One block away there are many places to park. The location is nearby supermarkets, train, bus, university & others. Being close to highway has pros and cons, as heavy trucks passing through and it is dangerous for kids & pets. We didn’t see kids here, which make sense. It’s frustrating to bike here. Safety may also be a concern, the office emailed don’t open building doors to strangers. Bike-locker room is full and we heard about bike theft. We saw fire trucks and fire alarms because of electricity of the building, an alarm happened at midnight. Amenities, gym is small for residents, some machine don’t work, and we had waiting lines to use a machine. When lived there, common areas’ TVs were not working. We spoke with staff and they said “we know” with a passive aggressive smile. It seems that some big families are living in here and they have parties every weekend in the club room or pool area, which sometimes scary, because of many guests in the building. It is unpleasant that while watching a game with neighbors, other neighbors who had party (no reservation system), kicked us out of club room. Complaining to office didn’t help. The common areas are small, very noisy, and hard to study or work in. We ended up paying for unused amenities. That includes the pool that has a dog swimming day. NO printer in the business center, before moving they said it would be installed, but they didn’t. Packages are a problem, we found ours after a month and they were sensitive documents. That’s in addition to noise from the trucks on the street, and footsteps and laundry machines of the upstairs neighbors that shake the ceiling. You may find houses on University Ave calmer than here. Moving out is complicated, deposit may take time to return and they find issues to charge you for. They will take your deposit. As mentioned, it’s hard to meet with neighbors in club rooms, we have to meet them outside. The social events organized by office are not fun, so most of residents don’t join. Coffee machine is a big problem. They charge twice as much for renter’s insurance. In short, The Mason lacks basic things compared to other properties. A lot of problems all the time. The staff sometimes are not in the office to assist. We saw things that we’ve never seen in our lives. We found another building in Minneapolis managed by same company, we ran away. Our advice is visiting more houses around, you may find bigger space for lower price and asking around."
