"Very large and beautiful right along Lake Lac Qui Parle! The upper campground is very clean. Mowed walking trails. Great views from on top of the bluffs. State record cottonwood tree exists here also and is worth the short hike from the roadway. Many places to fish, hunt, or just relax."
"I would never knock a state park. The upper campground had beautiful views and a nice shower and bathroom facility. I wish there were more full hook-up sites. The lower campground when we visited the Map Table building was covered with critter or bird debris. Also, with the only camping available it would be nice if swimming and boat rental would be available on the same side of the lake."
"The upper campground is the hightlight of this park. It is modern and nice with camper cabins and has an ok visitor center near it. Great views of the lake and has boat access and day use area. But overall this park needs a lot of work. It is very neglected and the lower area feels like a dump. Very little hiking trails and really no amenities."
"Limited hiking but there is plenty of variety from paddling, launching a boat, historical buildings (19th century mission, WPA buildings) and a huge cottonwood tree. The prairie here is wonderful. The upper campground has well spaced out sites, some full hookup and some with lake views. The restrooms are very clean. Although there is little shade, there is often a good breeze. The beach area has small gravel areas and large shoreline rocks. It was not great as a family beach, but picturesque."
"Nice park seemed better suited for horses. The staff was informative and very nice. Enjoyed the largest cottonwoods in man, also the hike there brought us through a patch of the best smelling flowers ever the smell completely envelopes the entire area. Like lilacs mixed with jasmine... wonderful"
