The police are always here. Swat and atf has been here. They fight all the time. Breaking up the main entrance to the building. People have been shot. Maintenance do patch up work. Now I’m finally moving…"

"Started off my highland park journey in the 690 building. Right aways problems , domestics from the neighbor above us , screaming , banging to the point the whole building is calling the police on them. (Pic enclosed )They were allowed to stay until their lease was up. Then was the constant water leaks. By the second year ownership changed and we were looking for a bigger space. We decided to move into the townhome side. Right away the water leaks followed us. But at least we can enjoy being home we thought at the time. Started off great. wonderful neighbors, friendly. Large patio. 2nd year different neighbors but still respectful wonderful ppl. By 2020 there were new neighbors, and with them came problems right away.(along with constant water leaks ) Right away crashes and banging by teenagers all night long , parents oblivious or don’t care. (2 that lived there, one that pretended they didn’t live there and the other 5 that was always there…daily . Until 1:00am . Total ppl banging is now 8-11 ppl. Tried to be patient, but even the most patient become weary. Tried talking to them. To no avail. Then we were forced to contact the office , it would stop for a couple days and then the banging and shaking the unit would start again. Slamming doors so hard the whole unit shakes. Literally after being asked by the office and us kindly not too do so. As it would shake the whole unit. They would stand there and do it repeatedly.All the while they would act innocent. Usually the treat would be around midnight , you would hear a round of about 6 crashes. Coupled with them dumping loads of rice down the garbage disposal, and shining lights in our. Bedroom window at 2: 00am (pics enclosed ) Laura (the manager ) said up on every contact state “you have neighbors “ as if it’s normal for your unit to shake and pictures too fall from the walls.. recordings , other neighbors, and police reports all confirm they have a problem.(maybe not for management, but anyone living below them is in trouble ) Laura doesn’t do her job at all. She doesn’t care will brush you off close her door and do nothing. Texts messages , calls , etc. all fell upon deaf ears. The office staff changes more than you can change your underwear. Washers and dryers are always broken , parking lot is crumbling, dog feces to walk through (so stay off the grass) a playground that consists of mom swing and broken basketball hoops. A concrete slab is the dog park. Boiler room is leaking . Unshoveled walls (unless you count the 2 years I shoveled the town home side .) everytime it snowed. Was told too stop calling the police as I am jeopardizing my lease. (Against the law to ask that or threaten someone calling for police services or aid ) All Because we had the audacity to want to sleep at night. Let’s not get started on their water bill scam.. somehow your water bill will be the same as it would be in a house. So after 6!years of water leaks , 2 years of sleepless nights and banging, lights illuminating your windows at random times, 6 years of an incompetent office manager. First was missy , then was Laura. The only person there that knows their job is Janelle . They tie her hands basically and won’t let do her job. Courtney was nice also but she couldn’t do anything as well. Hands tied. Look at all the pics and see if this is the place for you. Run far away. They only care about their money. Steven Scott/ Bader all the same nothing has changed but the name…. Edit: While i appreciate the encouraging words , I no longer reside at Highland park.. Above all I am thankful for a place to call home for my family at the time. My only wish is that my concerns were addressed then , instead we were forced too move or endure sleepless nights and subpar communication , and threats of ending our residency if we just didn’t be silent and accept it. When we had. Never , repeat. Never one problem as a resident on our end. So we moved. These improvements sound wonderful for your current residents wish you well. And thank you"

"After a while of living at the apartment you start to realize all the little flaws the staff and property have. I live at highland park apts close to 11 yrs now and everything I’ve noticed is the caretakers don’t do anything unless it’s ask of them to do or they do it but poorly. The lady who comes to do paperwork she gets a snarky attitude when she’s just asked questions about something, thankfully we have a new manager on site who is very knowledgeable and respectful. The parking lot is crumbling to the point it’s not even safe to stand next to the front end of a vehicle without the risk of getting hit or you have to be extremely cautious about crossing with a dog since the speed limit isn’t being enforced. The leash law requires all dogs to be on leash the moment they leave a vehicle or the unit yet I’ve watched a handful of small medium sided dogs run over to people other dogs creating a horrible hostile environment since the owners hardly do anything to keep the dogs by them or they turn their backs to the dogs and let them run. The caretaker who lives in the 630 building is aware of the situation but has don’t nothing to inform the new tenant nor has he done anything in the slightest besides put energy into doing the wrong thing like watching people whom have the dog on leash and pick up after them. He still continues to do this but after being talked with about the situation he has sense backed off. They sent out the notice of if dogs are leashed on property that it’s a leash violation and they can terminate the pet policy with the tenants who do not follow, but nothing has changed and I’m waiting for the slightest indication that they actually care enough to do something since it’s coming down to the safely and wellness of a tenant. There’s no reason why this has to go on for so long. Update: there has been yet another incident involving two of the smaller dogs and the police were called but nothing has changed as of yet, this is the third lease violation I believe and they have some letters about the leash violation."

"was asked to rate maintenance request. as soon as I told Janelle I had a problem, within the hour Opyo and Vince got it fixed for me. very satisfied. previous maintenance request was also handled quickly and efficiently. much appreciated."

"Had a leaky kitchen sink and called maintenance. They came by the same day and replaced the faucet. No more leak"
