Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Sioux Falls

"Booked a room here. When we went to check in to our room it smelled very strong. While we were on our way back to the lobby we rode in the elevator where there was a guy from pest control with a tank sprayer & mark who had just finished treating something. Not sure if it was our room or not but we didn't feel comfortable staying. The floor in the 2nd floor rooms (we looked at 2) were strangely not level/flat. Staff were very helpful and were able to cancel our reservation."

"Stayed here recently for a work trip and woke up with bug bites all over my neck, arms, hands. Let the hotel manager know and their response was concerning, they didn't offer anything or even offer to let me see a exterminator report. I asked for it anyway and I have still yet to have any follow up."

"Bed bugs came home with us. We didn’t notice any at the hotel, though we weren’t looking for them. Very frustrating. We’ve never encountered bringing a pest home within our lengthy experience in travel. Absolutely disappointed and disgusted. Of course we’ll be extremely vigilant from now on. Please take care of this issue!! I see it has been reported 3 times now. Don’t take the risk."

"This hotel gets the job done. It is a simple hotel with nice, clean rooms and a killer breakfast. Our room was clean and the employees were all super friendly. I could rave for days on the selection they had for breakfast. Not only was the selection amazing, but it all tasted good, too! It wasn't all just prepackaged cereals and muffins (though there was the option for these things if you wanted them!). There was plenty of food that was made in house. Very good place to stay."

"We weren't able to check into our rooms until after 7 pm, over 4 hours after the standard check in time! I asked what could be done to compensate for this and was met with total lack of empathy and resolution. Manager was elusive and I had to ask two separate desk clerks for help with the matter, still waiting on resolution. To top it off, my kids were yelled at by staff for playing around even though they couldn't get us into a room in time. Next morning, cleaning staff named Nancy hollered at my kids and told them not to laugh and run in the stairwell.? It was 11 am and I confirmed there wasn't any guest there complaining. I confronted her letting her know I didn't appreciate her harassing my children, who happen to be mixed, she became very rude and defensive. She then proceeded to threaten to call police for my husband, who happens to be African American, and told us she'd have us blocked from staying at the hotel again...for what? For exchanging words? Please take time to ensure your staff is willing and able to treat ALL guests with the same respect and courtesies as a civil lawsuit could destroy this place which is showing a lot of signs of wear and tear already"
