"Emma Lou daycare is place where you can leave your child and be at work knowing your child is safe and cared for. It’s really hard to find that. I am thankful that my daughter had the opportunity to be part of Emma Lou daycare."
"We LOVED Emma Lou Daycare! The atmosphere was playful and comforting. Communication was great. My daughter looked forward to going every day. We wish we could have stayed!"
"Emma lou is a God send. We searched and researched many places and found Emma lou to be the best fit. She's very caring about her children and keeps things Intimate and close-knit. Which we like. She's been very transparent on changing situations involving health related issues. Don't understand the confusion. She seems to want everyone to be safe. Which we appreciate"
"This seemed like a promising at-home daycare but Emma is quick to take offense when parents ask for clearer communication. We'd suggested that she could be more clear on the daycare's specific COVID protocols and procedures for children's return to the daycare (since she contracted COVID) and instead of specifying her expectations for parents, she got defensive and immediately became condescending. A series of text exchanges with her has really shown that she takes short cuts with the professionalism her business requires such as not explaining her procedures to parents of newly enrolled children, saying "I thought this was common knowledge...If I wasn't specific in that regard, I'll take blame for not reducing it to a granular level as to provide precautions for the possibility of spreading covid throughout the daycare." Ma'am, this is your job, your profession, your career. Parents should not be asking you to do your job and you should not be getting upset at parents for expressing their desire for clearer communication of your procedures if all you texted was essentially, "I have covid...Not sure where it came from...Please be advised to take proper precautions in order to insure the well being of your family...Every child must be tested before returning." We did provide a negative test result for our child but as one of her closing texts, Emma basically shut her doors on us on grounds of keeping the daycare safe since our test result wasn't from our child's physician directly, even though it was HER who contracted covid in the first place? She asked for a negative test result, we provided one. Considering how quickly Emma got nasty with us, we just could not find it in ourselves to trust her to be kind to our child if we had returned to the daycare. We've only been enrolled one week. Response: "I'm sorry if you didn't understand our policies." There's no way of anyone understanding your policies if you don't tell us WHAT THEY ARE. Back here again with the condescending tone. Not once have we talked badly on you or your daycare, just expressing our desire for better communication but you come back with sly, condescending comments and "apologies". We aren't contesting the need to get tested, seeing a doctor, or blaming you for getting covid. Safety is a priority for us as much as it is for you. You don't need to "monitor what people do in their own time," just maintain clear communication. Life happens, everyone has families, everyone has concerns. As the professional, you just need to do your part in making sure your expectations and procedures are CLEAR--and not working based on the assumption that everyone know how you work. (e.g., "I thought this was common knowledge"). Instead of "apologizing" that we didn't understand your policies & blaming us because these protocols are "common sense" to you, you should be apologizing for not doing your job in explaining them. How is it our fault for not knowing your procedures if you don't explain them? This could've been a great opportunity for you to practice professionalism by utilizing any step-by-step documents, CDC fliers, etc. to demonstrate your expectations and hospitality. However, you keep deflecting your accountability on this "fluid pandemic" but this pandemic has nothing to do with your unprofessionalism and bad attitude. "The overall safety of All the children and parents, (and my family) as well is something we take seriously"-- so we agree that we want this space to be safe for everyone but your defensive attitude has literally made this space a hostile environment. We can't trust this daycare to be a safe place for our child anymore. It's your "passion" to run this business but you find it a chore to do your best. I don't doubt this could be a great daycare, but it was inappropriate for you to get defensive so quickly when all we were asking for was clearer communication and not unprofessional texts with vague messages. Telling us the date for when you reopen doesn't clarify your procedures. Good luck being successful with this attitude."
"My children loves Emma lou, such a loving environment, and for me I can trust that my children are in good hands, and her prices are very reasonable, she actually works with the parents. Thumbs up.."
