Family Visitation Center

"Not happy with our experiences at all! We used the family visitation center last year for a few months and it went okay other than all they do is bribe the kids... We started back using them again back in October per court order and the manager is terrible, she claims she didn't know we were starting our court order all over again because it had been almost a year sense my child had seen his other parent when we told her multiple times on the phone and over emails. The manager also says she can get us stuff by a certain time but yet weeks later still doesn't have it to me, they also favor the other parent that is going there for the visits and tells them things like they can move to community-based visits after 3 months even though our court order is for 6 at least 6 months.... I don't recommend this place or service to anyone. If you have the option to do them somewhere else, please do. I don't wish any child to have to go through this ever!!"

"Secretly Tape record or film all interactions with staff. This place is predatory and criminal. The will prolong abuse so that their business stays busy and thriving. I suspect they don’t report child abuse either. If you have any information regarding this place I advise sending it to the chief of police of Sioux Falls via email."

"Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful, however some of the staff are rude and inconsiderate. Since partnering with Avera there seems to be HUGE miscommunications with getting your deposit back. You can’t have a visit with your children without their required $60.00 deposit but when you want your deposit back, I’m still waiting and I’ve been done with the services for over 2 months. Also, they require you be on time which I understand, one time on THEIR property they saw me fall slipping on ice, picking up the gifts I had brought for my daughter and bc I rant the doorbell 1 minute past the allowed time I was unable to see my daughter. Had to pay full price for the visit, and not see my daughter. In many other states this service is free, and instead they gain by this and only allowing one hour visits once a week. They’re also not mandatory reporters, which they should be. Then they have a outrageous price to get the recordings of you need them for court. Or otherwise."

"My son and granddaughter utilize this facility and have been happy so far but my concern is: Why is the parent utilizing this center allowed to bring in cell phone? We know inappropriate messages and pictures can be put on the phone and then shown to the child and how will you know? I strongly urge you to reconsider and change your policy....for my granddaughters sake. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully discuss changing policy"
