Reviews
"I have way too much negative review to address here, I would need a book to tell you of all our experiences there. Some of it: different staff on a weekly basis, putting my grandchild in someone elses diapers knowing he was allergic, no supervision at times, brightwheel cameras never working, etc I could go on for hours. You get the jist. Not a good place Took him out right before they got shut down the FIRST TIME"
"Treated My Kids Not Good. Yes Its Been Awhile But No Improvements As Ive Heard From Other Parents As Well. My Kids Kept Getting “Injured” And They Involved CPS for there wrong doings as in incidents that happen there. Ive Even Seen In Cameras The Staff At Time Were Refusing To Give My Oldest Snack or Even Lunch, And Leaving My Son In High Chair And Walking Away. I Wouldnt Allow My Kids To Go Back Nor My New Baby."
"A review has been a long time coming as we have been using Dino Drop-In West Fargo for over a year. As an Osgood/West Fargo resident, the location is ideal. I opted for full-time care, so my rate is based on that and not the drop-in rate; however, it is important to note that there is part-time care, full-time care, and drop-in care opportunities which makes their use of service quite flexible. The facility is clean (their playground could use some work), they practice safe child-staff ratios, safe sleep practices, background checks are administered through the state, and staff training certs are displayed on the wall. The facility uses the Brightwheel App, which is used to check your child in an out as well as used for communication and documenting daily activities. If the staff are not familiar with you, they do ask for ID before allowing your child to leave, even if you have checked them out on the app. There is live video feed that is password protected for parents to view their children throughout the day. This does give me peace of mind; however, the camera is password protected and it is stated that they change the password regularly but it hasn’t been changed for months. Another thing that I do not particularly like about the building is, everyone can see in – the walls of the building are glass. I didn’t like that there was a door straight to the baby room and that it was glass – they no longer use that door, but it would be nice it they could get rid of it entirely. In the main room, where the glass wall is along the playground, there isn’t a window shade and that can make it pretty bright during nap-time. A window shade would be an easy fix for this. Alright, I have seen some negative reviews about staff interactions and if I could shout this to every naysayer, I would – THE CURRENT STAFF IS AMAZING! AMAZING! AND NOTHING SHORT OF THAT! At drop-off, Ms. Bailey usually asks me how my son’s night was and gives me the time to discuss what his morning looked like and anything else I feel necessary to share. At pick-up, I will often ask about is day and the evening staff does not shy away from providing details. Yes, there have been staff changes; however, I do not feel that my son was treated negatively as a result. My son leaps into his teachers arms at drop-off and is usually very happy at pickup. The facility did shutdown 6 months ago for about 2 weeks due to state background checks being tied up as new staff were joining the team. You can easily find this information online. I have not had issues communication either via phone, email, or through the app. I would suggest ensuring that you have all the contact details needed when your child starts at any center – the staff has always been responsive to me. I do believe that my son has had a positive experience overall; however, there still is room to improve. Dino advertises a play-based approach to learning, which I appreciate but I do not believe my child has experienced much else outside of this approach. In the infant room, it has been my experience that they do not regularly do activities like art, music, or reading. I will say that this has changed recently – I do hope that this continues. Dino is divided by the infant room, toddler room, and preschoolers – there is not a transitionary room (12mo-17mo). I understand smaller babies require more; however, I do think those baby walkers need more stimulation. My rating for Dino is going to be 4 stars mostly because of the visibility from the outside in, the unkept outdoor play area, the camera password not being updated, and because I would prefer more daily activities. Do not let these critiques fool you, my son and I are happy, and I believe the staff are wonderful."
"I have my 3-year-old niece for a handful of days each month. She lives out of town so this has been the perfect place for me to bring her on the days that I have meetings or want her to get some time with other kids. Even when she's back in her home town, she's asking when she can go back to Dino School! The teachers are consistent, friendly and remember name her each time. This is totally the place to bring your kids if you need flexibility but still look at routine as an important part of their day!"
"My daughter and son-in-law had took their kids to this place until they shut down for not having the proper licenses. I would drop my grandkids off here and it was always hard to leave them as it seemed like each week they had new staff, and every month was a new director. We have found out now that that the owner of the company lives in Montana. She apparently hires staff over the phone and has the existing staff give updates to her. Lots of red flags have popped up over the last few months and now they are clearly shut down for a reason. When previous staff say "do not take your child there" for safety reasons and now they have been shut down for a month by the state I would think twice about bringing your child."
