"Love the ropes and the boxing bags and the kick dummy just way more to do than other gyms."
"Very friendly staff and quick way to workout. Only thing would be the pop music in the workout area isn't really appropriate. It would be nice if they could fine fast paced music maybe with no lyrics."
"I was very excited to get my kids into Karate, but I would not recommend the YMCA for children.. The Wednesday teacher Karin should not be working with children, she makes it very clear that she doesn't want to teach and has no patience.. My kids are 6 and 7 this was their very 1st time in karate so they have no knowledge of what the moves are called or how they should be preformed.. Karin would get frustrated quickly when they didn't understand the 1st time and instead of correcting them and teaching them the proper form she would give up rolle her eyes and moved on to something else.. At the end of the class she told my kids I'm sure your mom could be spending her time and money on other things.. This was our first time with her.. I decided to give her another chance thinking she might have been having a bad day, but our second class was no different she would not take the time to show them the proper form, and rolled her eyes the entire time.. Making my kids feel like an inconvenience. So I decided to talk to her supervisor and ask for my money back but he would not allow me to explain the situation, interrupted me the entire time, say how she is "one of the best teacher they have" over all it was a horrible experience and I did not get money back. Needless to say if you want your child to have a great experience learning karate do not take them to the YMCA. It will be a wast of your time and money."
"Love the location, and the membership reciprocity with Choice fitness! YMCA works great for our family in the winter months esp, and is not ever overcrowded when we go. The staff do extra things to go above & beyond, and give a more personal connection. Cleaning of floors, track, & bathrooms could be done better, though."
"Admittedly not the most updated... but it's obvious that's not what they're going for! I actually really enjoyed my membership- it wasn't empty, but wasn't ever crowded. I always had access to the track and machines I wanted to use with little to no wait time. The classes are very well done! I love the location and the staff is helpful. It is on the pricier side- for an individual membership that applies to Choice fitness as well it's between $50-55. In the winter months especially, it's been worth it to me!"
