Reviews
"I saw the following review and it could have been my own review. "Wabi Sabi is unethical, void of scruples and claiming that in order to run their business, are not responsible to let clients, that bring in valuable furnishings, know when items are 'expired'. They are then sold at the store and the owners keep the profits from that sale. As I was talking to one of the women that was at the shop, another woman in the background said, "I suppose that's another one putting up a fuss". Unbelievable. Not quite sure how they sleep at night." In our case, we lost two nice living room chairs because we never rec'd a courtesy call informing us that the time had expired and allowing us the option of picking up the chairs. My wife asked Christine why we didn't get a courtesy call and Christine told her they don't provide courtesy calls. My wife told her the previous owner (Kay) did give us courtesy calls and Christine went on to tell my wife that Kay did not provide courtesy calls. I begged to differ and told Christine she has no knowledge about any conversations my wife had with Kay. Her response was "well maybe you formed a relationship with Kay". Hello?! Isn't business about forming relationships? Christine told me it would take too much time to make courtesy calls for expired items. I looked around the relatively small store that had one customer, two employees and the owner, I motioned out to the sales floor and asked "how could you possibly not have time to make courtesy calls?" We have been Wabi Sabi customers for years dating back to the original location. Wabi Sabi has always been one of our favorite haunts and have recommended to so many friends and relatives. No more - We will never shop or consign there again."

"Used to love this store before the new owner took over and moved the store to Maple Grove. The former store located in Minnetonka had such a nice ambiance to it and carried more heirloom and one of a kind type pieces. The new store seems to carry mostly mass manufactured items you could easily find at Pottery Barn or Cost Plus World Market type stores. The former website was better too - there was even a section that gave bios about the staff that work there, which added to the ambiance. Nothing like that now. The “sale” prices now are terrible too. Will not be patronizing this new place!"
"I LOVED Wabi Sabi before it was sold and had to move to the new Maple Grove location. I was Always able to find unique and interesting items mixed in with those mass appeal things and price points and the pricing structure were reasonable. When I bought my house I furnished most of my art pieces and lots of furniture from there. Even got my indoor water fountain fixture from there. Now, it's all hum drum run of the mill I could get at Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, etc... I get it, the new owner is an interior designer and brings in things that fit her aesthetic but not everyone loves bland, cookie cutter, "everyone else has one so I need it too" type of things. I miss the old inventory treasures AND the pricing structure. That said, new owner is meeting a market demand so I can't give one star, she just markets to a different type of consumer base and I don't fit that mold. If you do, then you may love it. I won't be shopping there again, shame too, will lose all my accumulated points."
"This is one of my favorite shops. Great, high quality products for any style. The staff is always amazing and the store is even fun to just walk around and check out the new inventory. Half my house is from Wabi Sabi!!"
