"The VFW opened their doors and arms for our Quilts of Valor presentation for 2 Veterans. Gracious hosts, thank you. On this day VFW opened their doors early AGAIN for our Quilt of Valor group so we could recover some of the chairs in their meeting room. This picture shows finished chairs with VFW staff member Cathy (left), and Sue Anderson, leader of our group (right). VFW Fort Smith are gracious and accommodating when any event is planned for Veterans. We support and partner with them any way we can. Our Quilts of Valir sewing group are so impressed with this VFW post that many of us have applied to become auxiliary members. They are all about veterans who fought on foreign soil for our freedom. Go visit them!"

"The bar here has gone no smoking. It is amazing what a good job they have done cleaning out the stale smoke smell. Makes it easier to appreciate the place since I did not get a headache when I walked in. At this point (Sep 2022) the post does not have an Auxiliary but we are hoping that will change soon. Just a few more people need to agree to join. In cassoulet are not aware, VFW Auxiliaries are open to ANY PERSON who is the grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse, child, or grandchild of a Veteran who served in ANY BRANCH of the US Military in a War Zone. If you think you maybe eligable, contact any VFW Post or the website for the VFW AUXILIARY. IF you don't see your answer in print, drop them a message and they will be happy to reply."

"Feel terrible about the way the government is going on with the Non-funding of our Military Veterans. Was calling around all of for Smith and the surrounding area including and not limited to: Vfw San. Diego, Missouri, Texas and everyone in Crawford Co., Sebastian Co. And absolutely everyone of these agencies felt terrible to say we are sorry we are unable to keep the lights on ourselves here at the place that should be helping you. Sad.. Well I honor those who are still setting in those institution's sticking it out AGAIN FOR THERE COUNTRY. WE WILL GET THROUGH FELLOW SERVICE MEMBERS SADLY TO SAY MOSTLY STILL HOMELESS AND EMPTY BELLIED. SIMPER FI AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS WELL GOD SPEED"
