"I have had to shop for home owners insurance on numerous properties. I have never been asked so many detailed questions about the property in question (i.e. measurements, square footage, material makeup on buildings, flooring type and square footage or percentage of floor space, year of installation and so on). This is a new home to me. I am unsure of all the specifics. My experience in general with other companies has been as follows. Give property address, the company already has an assessed value and any particulars, they come to the property to assess on their time. Let's be real, as a homeowner we are paying inflated prices for a product that we rarely use. The least the company could do if they have that extensive of a questionnaire is set up a time to come out and do the assessment for their customer to make sure their inspection criteria is answered to their specifications because we all know they are going to come out and do an inspection after they get you to sign the paperwork and that can change pricing or if they will even cover the property. The customer service provided from State farm in my opinion was less than satisfactory and for that reason I went with another provider."
"I had been a faithful customer of Geico for years until I relocated from California to North Dakota. I never had any issues until I needed to use my coverage recently. My brand new car stopped working due to a faulty battery, which prompted me to utilize the emergency roadside assistance from my policy. This is when I learned that I didn’t have roadside assistance on my policy, which was strange because I used the service before with no issues. I never made any changes to my policy other than moving the assisting policy to a new state. When I called Geico customer service, I expressed my concerns and they told me that they would investigate and contact me. I didn’t receive any correspondence from Geico in 3 weeks, which is bad customer service in my opinion, especially with me being a long time customer. I decided that I wasn’t going to pay money to an insurance company that does not value me as a customer. Therefore, I reached out to a local insurance agent with State Farm and that’s when I spoke with Tanner Olsen. Tanner provided excellent customer service and follow up. He was very easy to talk with and most importantly very knowledgeable about the questions I asked. It was a pleasure working with him. I would highly recommend him to colleagues and friends. I look forward to an ongoing relationship with State Farm as my new provider."
