"I called from a provider’s office on a mutual patient. Never spoke to person just put on hold waiting for the front desk to pick up. So far its been 15 minutes waiting…. There should be an option available if calling from another provider’s office. Now 20 minutes…"
"Unfortunately, I inherited the "everything's degenerative" trait from my Dad's side of the family and turning 40 was no treat. Absolute truth, the very next day after my 40th, I had excruciating pain in both shoulders and in my right hip. Not a day of grace went by from then on~ I knew I'd be paying for my playing, with lots of Orthopaedic surgeons in my future. I had my first visit to UAMS Baptist Health Orthopaedic Clinic in Conway on January 2, 2022. Prior to that, I had been getting physical therapy on my shoulders for almost a year and the therapist told me it wasn't doing any good, referring me to UAMS Baptist there in Conway. Guys, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for that referral. They have been the BIGGEST BLESSING!!! My shoulder care, in the hands of Dr. Justin Rabinowitz, began that first week of January 2022, and is still ongoing. Dr. Rabinowitz told me I had severe arthritis and at the age of 48, that was rare. Nothing life-threatening by no means, but I imagined this wasn't gonna be a fun road trip! Without rushing into surgery, he paced my progression and/or regression throughout the year, and eventually decided surgery was inevitable. I elected to get the process started with my right shoulder and had surgery on it January 3rd of this year. It is a night(mare) and brand new day difference!!!!! I cannot wait to have my left one done~the relief I have was sooooo worth the pain of recovery! Dr. Justin Rabinowitz is an absolute God send. He is patient, kind, engaging, responsive and attentive to what the patient needs. The last thing I wanted to do was have Ortho surgery of annnnnny kind... thank the Lord I did! Left shoulder up next...then on to the hip with Dr. Larry O'Malley! Between him, Dr. Rabinowitz and Dr. Kathryn Nance, I couldn't be in better hands, not having one bad experience there. Their ENTIRE team and staff are amazing, from the front desk to back offices. Thank you so so much!!!"
"I have been an active patient at this clinic for the past year due to a severe osteoarthritic hip. Initial doctor was Kathryn Nance through Baptist. Courteous, professional & knowledgeable services provided were in line with insurance requirements, re: x-rays & diagnosis followed by 4 weeks of PT coupled with prescription anti-inflammatory meds. Pain moderately managed but persistent. Started ultrasound based cortisone injections every 6 weeks and adopted a rollator as part of my daily lifestyle. Osteo condition continued to worsen. Dr. Nance referred my case to Ortho surgeon Paul K. Edwards, who is available on certain days at the Baptist clinic via a partnership with UAMS. Dr. Edwards spent sufficient, detailed consultation time with me in relation to presenting anterior total hip replacement (this method is currently documented as featuring fewer physical, post-op restrictions & faster recovery time) as the most viable option for a return to pain free (in the diseased hip) physical mobility. The doc is personable, genuine & breaks things down into lay terms He does not hard pedal what is considered (mind-blowingly) elective surgery. I opted for surgery. Did a pre-op with Dr. Nance less than one month prior to surgery, attended Hip Knee Academy session at UAMS-LR and did an overnight stay at Baptist Hospital-Conway for the actual procedure, but which went as planned, without complications. Dr. Edwards has performed upwards of 1500 anterior THR procedures. I am just under week 8 of post-op. Post-surgery left me with a minor leg length discrepancy that has been remedied by a prescription shoe lift. The minor length discrepancy is not uncommon for THR recipients but it may slow down the process of learning to walk normally again by a week or more. Because of the limp when not wearing adjusted shoes I was nervous about walking without my cane, but that has now passed. Will do a separate review of the post-op visit experience (1 year of periodic visits) as a whole once I have completed the schedule. All pre surgery and surgery day experience with the clinic staff, Dr. Nance, Dr. Edwards, nurse Monica (she is superwoman and will be a primary point of contact for you on a variety of levels. She fills BIG shoes at the clinic & has my gratefulness for all she does) and PA Hanna was positive. All services were performed in a timely manner. There may be a bit of a wait on days Dr. Edwards is seeing patients because his services are apparently in high demand(what you'll understand when you see an army of walker & cane toting and newly mobile folks file in to the waiting room). Getting to your appt. a few minutes early is a plus for you as far as being seen in an on time, give or take a few window."
"DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC ( READ ENTIRE EXPLAINATION) This office is completely unorganized! I am currently out of work due to a ACL issue and so I can be seen for further care. It has been almost 2 weeks now and the front desk has finally sent what my insurance needs to so I can further my care. The only way that happened is by contacting my insurance company and have them demand the information (this was done more than once). At this point I'm adding to my previous remarks. I have waited around 5-6 weeks and I have finally recieved my knee brace I've need to fully go back to work. I completely understand that insurance can take a while for a pre-authorization on braces and such, but I was told that it could be put in as urgent and that they will be done and would have approved in as little as 3-4 days. Well here's what happened.... I was sent to doctor O'maleys office in little rock and when I got in contact with right person to order the knee brace do the whole insurance deal they kept saying that my insurance won't cover it because it is not in network.... well come to find out they were to lazy to put in the Pre-authorization required to receive the brace. So he said "we can just get a brace that is a step down, but we would have to add a few things to it to make it work." Well that's not what I'm looking for, I'm looking for something that the DOCTOR wanted me to get, because if the doctor told me to get that specific brace that means it will help with my specific issue. Well he decided to order it anyways and told me my brace was ready and approved, I found out it was the wrong one and I didn't even bother going to and get it. I told them to get the brace I needed pre approved, and they said they would and after 2 and a half weeks I dod here back after trying to contact the man. At the 3rd week mark I get a call from new hope prostics and orthotics and they said they recieved my information and they were wondering when I could come in. Well i never new i got pushed to a different clinic to get the knee brace, come to find out they didn't want to deal with it and pushed me somewhere else. Once I got sized up at new hope prostics and orthotics the gentleman said he will do everything he can to get that knee brace I've need for 3 WEEKS, which he did his best. At the 6th week mark I finally recieved the brace I needed and the gentleman at new hope told me that the uams office sat on my paper work and didn't do anything with it insurance wise the whole time. And that he had to get involved to get it done for me. Long story short I extremely like doctor O'maley and really want him to proform my surgery but I can't because the care that clinic provides below any standard or stars I can give it. They literally let me gimp around with a torn PCL and generic knee brace (thay did nothing) for around 6 weeks roughly give it take."
"Background; we were referred by PCP for wrist problem, by mistake by both parties sent to shoulder doctor. Instead of sending us back on correct day they took xrays and shoulder doctor came in gave quick tutorial on cause of pain and referred us to the wrist doctor, who is only there on Mondays. Waited 3 weeks got there 45 min early. Waited in car, watched doctor go inside. Checked in 10 min early, no paperwork or xrays, already done. Put us in a room for 40 min? He was so mad we left. There were no other patients but us? Will not go back and certaintly will not recommend. Our time is JUST as valuable as theirs and they need to realize this. That's two days of burned time off and gas. This is no way to do business."
