"Smart Start Ignition interlocks require periodic service called calibration. I've dealt with various suppliers of this service throughout the Twin Cities over the past few years. All but Boulevard Station, sucked in terms of readiness and availability. Today was a breeze, easy in and out Boulevard's drive-up set-up was so convenient, professional, and prompt. Thank you for the best example of doing it right!!! Great place!"
"strange situation I had my car towed in for unexpected service on my SmartStart device (told by SmartStart to have it towed there). when I arrived the owner said “ can you take a walk for about 15 minutes “ while they repaired device because they were all sick in the shop. stood out waiting for 25 minutes in 30 degree weather (no coffee shops or anything near locale). car still wasn’t ready, a guy drove by the station and said “he’s been in my spot before”, having to wait outside and he offered me a ride if I lived close to there which I don’t. I told him it was kind of odd I had to wait outside but they’re all sick in there. he said that it’s been like that since Covid 19, so basically the owner lied to me right off the bat. I understand wanting to take precautions, I’d have waited in there with a mask on. got so cold I waited in the lobby of the apt building across the street, they did have me out of there in 1 hour though. strange practices at this place in my humble opinion."
"I had to go into the office to get service. No one would call me back. Tried for weeks, left many messages. It got to the point if someone did answer my car, I would somehow be cut off. They had somebody sitting behind the desk answering phones. Some dude walks by him and I hear him say “that’s Jody“. WOW The gentleman that help me in the office was nice, Device was installed two days later."
"I had to sadly deal with the owner of this shop for an ignition lock system. If you can get it installed anywhere else - DO IT. I left with all of my engine lights on. When I called about this and I was chastised it was my fault, the car probably had issues (it was less than a year old). When I told him he should work on his customer service, I was told the reason he was the owner was so he didn't have to worry about that stuff. When my system was removed (at a different location) it turns out that an air filter fitting (I'm not exactly sure of the name) and that was why my lights continually came back on even after resetting. Today, I went to the dealer to find out about water that was flowing into my car, they informed me that the sunroof water hose was not connected. Again, in the same location as the install of the ignition unit. I have NEVER written a google review before, but because this was so incredibly negative in every aspect, I could not walk away without saying something. It was a hard time and this place only made it worse with car issues and bad attitude by ownership. Thankfully I found a wonderful group in Edina that were fantastic. (even they had heard about this location and the dissatisfaction of customers) I hope this saves others from such bad service and an arrogant, rude owner."
"When your 20 year old car blows out a radiator hose on the highway, you may feel like your afternoon just took a nosedive, but quite a few other things could go south before the day's over. For example, when you pull into the first parking lot off the next exit, it might not be a service station. Even if it is, the owner, at 330 in the afternoon, might tell you he can't get to it today. He might tell you he's short staffed (he was), that he has to order a new hose (he did), that his mother-in-law's 91st birthday celebration is that evening (his wife was there waiting to leave with him). Fortunately for me, none of these things happened. Dave, the owner, friendly in an informal sort of way, immediately walked out to my car and quickly saw the problem. After hearing that I lived on the other side of the metro, he walked back inside, calling first his part supplier and then the delivery driver to ensure the part came immediately. It came in 30 minutes, he quickly installed it, and explained to his wife, who was there telling him it was time to go, that he was "trying to help this guy out." She rang me up (a quick google search tells me he wasn't lying when he said the book told him to charge a higher labor cost than he did), and I was on the road within an hour. His wife seemed genuinely surprised when I left a tip, as if giving this kind of service to people is simply a matter of course for them, and for which they don't expect any kind of reward. These are the people you want working on your car."
