"We stumbled across this place looking for somewhere to eat after ice skate at the Oval. Walking into Lindey’s steakhouse is like taking a step back in time- it’s an old school feel with wood everywhere, a fireplace, and a simple menu. In fact, it’s really only 4 items: 2 steaks, 1 burger, 1 shrimp option. We both ordered the prime sirloin medium rare, and it came out cooked just as we asked for it, a real nice large hunk of meat for each of us. Yummy. Comes with salad, potatoes, and garlic bread. Potatoes are just alright, could use some more butter and seasoning. Enjoyable experience. Family run and owned, we were served by Lindey’s granddaughter who was lovely and helpful."
"There is a reason Lindey’s has been in business since 1958! They serve delicious quality food in a cozy setting. No frills just great steak and potatoes. Hubby went to college close by and hasn’t eaten here for 45 years. He remembered it fondly and it didn’t disappoint. It was as good as he remembered! The only thing that had changed was the price. We appreciated the option to split our meal for only $13.50. This included all you can eat potatoes; and a 14 ounce perfectly done steak! The original owner’s son met us at the door and made us feel welcome! Make reservations. We visited on a Monday night and it was packed!"
"We stopped in for lunch. Husband ordered the steak sandwich, I got the 1/2 pound burger, shared order of potatoes. We also wanted to see how good their grilled cheese sandwich was. I can't recommend that. the bread was very toasted but it was like they toasted the bread and then threw on the cheese because it wasn't even melted. My husband makes a better sandwich at home. The rest of our food was great. Just don't bother with grilled cheese."
"Simplistic. They don't make you think too hard. Few options. All amazing. They know what they excel at and they stick to that. Can't knock 'em. There's a reason they've been around for as long as they have. It was bustling on a weeknight and likely always is. Prices are a steal for the quality and service."
"Lindey’s was recommended to me by multiple regulars, so I had high expectations going into it. The service was top notch and the food came out very quickly, but I didn’t think the food was all that great. Very old school interior, I enjoyed it This restaurant only serves sirloin and shrimp as main courses. I have never been particularly fond of sirloin, and theirs didn’t change my mind any. It was a bit over cooked on the outside, very noticeably undercooked on the inside, and quite chewy. Flavor was good, but that was about it. If you are a medium rare person, order medium, and it’ll still come out a bit more rare than medium rare For a large sirloin, unlimited potatoes/bread/salad, it is about $40. If the food were not unlimited and took longer to arrive, I’d bump it down to a three. Each dish was fairly tasty, but I do not have the desire to come here frequently. If you have a large appetite and enjoy a decent sirloin, then it’s definitely worth checking out at least once!"
