Reviews
"Doesn't even deserve 1 star. When I first went in there, there wasn't much that stood out, alot of out dated and severely over priced clothes and shoes. Went in another day to sell, completely low balled me. Then the gay gentleman had the nerve to sit here whispering as soon as I turned around to leave. Not professional and just trashy workers."
"This is NOT a 1 star review as my experience deserves 0 stars!! I walk in with my daughter and her friend with some clothing to sell and the lady behind the counter immediately barks at me (as we are walking in) telling me if we are there to sell they are already done accepting clothing for the day and if we wanted to sell clothes then we should have gotten here right at open. It was around 2:15 on a Sunday and she said they close at 5?!!MMMk?! Her tone was EXTREMELY RUDE and condescending. Avoid at all costs - I definitely will & will tell everyone I know."
"Don’t waste your time. I arrived here at 2 P.M. to attempt to sell some clothes, and was told I came way too late and would need to come back the next day as early as possible. This place is open until 6 P.M. There is nothing posted on the website, or door stating there are certain hours that they accept items. The manager of this place may want to consider that in the future, since their process clearly doesn’t work based on the consistent negative reviews stating the same issue. What a time suck."
"Never post reviews but was left stunned by the rudeness of the staff. I had never been to Plato’s closet and did not know what to expect. I had three items with me that I was looking to consign. I did not say a single word and the person behind the counter (a blonde middle aged woman) just started shouting at me in a terse tone that they “aren’t a consignment” and that “like with any store, I should get there as close to the opening as possible.” How would I know this? I quietly said “ok” and left. I will not be back. I’m stunned. I imagine the employees deal with rude people from time to time, but it’s no excuse to be terrible to everyone."
"I never post reviews but after experiencing what my sister went through this location needs to held accountable for their horrible customer service. Let me start off by saying this was our very first time selling to Plato’s and of course we had no idea what to do and the employees just expect you to know how selling your items to them works and give you horrible attitude. Walking in there was not welcoming greeting, felt very cold/uncomfortable, my sister had dropped a small basket and small bag off to be sold at 11:30am and was told to be back anywhere between 5:30-6pm. Upon arriving another women had walked in to sell items as well. As we walked in right behind her, I am assuming the manager? Older blonde women with glasses loudly tells her (more like scolded her) and tells her “you are wayyy past the selling point, you need to come in tomorrow at 11 and hopefully have a better chance of selling your items.” And that was it, how professional! I could tell this gal was in shock and a little embarrassed. Is it that hard to be nice and first off greet people? And maybe not scold her for coming in late… anyways as she left we went up to the counter and asked for our items and what exactly they were taking. I had 2 pairs of brand new vans with tags and boxes, retail for $70 each ($140 total ) and offered $16 each ($32 for both) which is ridiculous, but oh well I just wanted to leave and never come back. I do not recommend coming to this location unless you want to be talked down to and treated like you’re incompetent. They need to be welcoming and treat people how they want to be treated, something they should have been taught as kids…"
