Balboa Heights Park, located at 2536 North Castro Avenue in Tucson, Arizona, is a designated "Kids Zone" park as per Tucson City Code 21-2. This park is closed to the general public during open hours of the Marty Birdman Center, as indicated on the center entrance. However, youth ages 14 and under are permitted to enter with parent or guardian supervision. Exceptions to this closure include community-wide events, programs, and permitted park reservations. The park is open from 7 a.m. to sunset, with Kids Zone hours during the school year on Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri from 2-6 p.m. and on Wed from noon to 6 p.m. During the summer, the park is open Mon-Fri from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit Balboa Heights Park for a fun and safe environment for kids to play and enjoy outdoor activities.

"The area the park is at is extremely questionable. Lots and lots of foot traffic. Park is gated and it’s a 50/50 chance that it is locked. If locked you just call the number and someone has opened it every time. When it is not locked there is usually a few homes less people roaming around. This park has bathrooms but once again are always locked and very inconvenient for children. Play grown is not shaded. But there are a few trees that help a little. One single jungle gym no swings or other equipment. It does have a splash pad in the same area!"
"Full of drug addicts up and down every street. Dirty neglected kids that make you sad to see. Kids with no running water at home coming to the park to fill jugs to take back home. Creepy zombie like people standing in the same spot for hours just swaying looking like they are about to fall over. I would not want to be here unarmed after dark. The actual park is nice. The play ground is nice. The restrooms were locked, 3 year old almost peed her pants, had her go by a tree which i assume all the homeless must do here."
