"Great service! I watched Nick's YouTube videos to confirm what I had suspected regarding my Sony tv (bad eMMC chip). That repair is beyond my ability and didn't like the idea of more electronic landfill. I sent my board in for repair and was kept aware of each stage of repair through the online repair store and emails that were sent. Within a week I received the repaired board and explicit instructions on how to pair the board to the tv. I believe this is specific for Sony main boards. Also, as was mentioned before the repair, the Netflix app on the tv did not work. I use an hdmi attached streaming device so that's no issue for me. The tv works and looks great! Thank you"
"I sent in a Kenmore/Frigidaire control board for a gas wall oven after watching several of their repairs on You Tube. The repair cost was resonable and they offered a 2 year guarantee on the repair. Counting the time to mail the part to Arizona from Georgia and back it took less than 2 weeks. The repaired control board works just as it did new. I highly recomend Nick's for this type of repair."
"PROCEED WITH CAUTION: 0 out of 5 stars. I’ll try to keep this as short as possible and to the point but I would highly recommend thinking twice before using Nicks for your TV repair. If you have any issues after they’ve “repaired” your TV they will not help you. Their so called “1 year warrantee” comes at your cost of shipping again and all together their customer service after payment was terrible and non existent. What’s most troubling about my experience with them is they really don’t even act like they care, their employees talk over you and raise their voice to you (which I was really surprised by), they act like it’s your fault the TV isn’t working and offer little to no support after their service. They don’t even want to talk to you on the phone, I was told to email them my issues (that should be a big red flag to anyone thinking of using a company that requests email support over a phone call). Their easy cop out response again and again was “we live tested it before it left and it worked”. Their instructions were very detailed they sent with the board on how to pair it, very specific but very basic, not difficult. I’m an A&P licensed aircraft mechanic, I fix airliners that millions of people trust their lives with for a living so I’m pretty competent at following written instructions. You would think after spending $200 they would take a little bit of pride in helping their customers with support. After days of waiting to speak with a tech (guys that answer the phones can’t answer technical questions apparently) and weeks of not having a TV for my family, I finally took my TV to a reputable local shop for a second opinion. I paid $80 and they diagnosed my issue as the main board not booting. Nicks requested to talk to the local shop so I gave them the info and they called them, when they called me back after talking to the local shop they actually had the nerve to tell to me that the local shop is lying about their diagnosis. Long story short, $280 later, I don’t have a working TV and what’s maybe even more disappointing about the situation is their complete lack of concern for the service they provided. Just all around terrible experience which is crazy from all the positive reviews Nicks has, maybe they’re fabricated reviews, idk, but it sure seems like it from the experience I’ve had. My TV was 5 years old so I ended up upgrading to an $1800 OLED because of my frustration, plus the $280 worth of waste for my now paper weight that I’m just done with. Exhausting/frustrating situation. I would just find a local shop if I were you."
"I was extremely satisfied with Nick's Electronics Repair service, and I'll tell you why. From the initial contact to completed transaction, Nick's repairs service was very professional. They take the time to call you to discuss your issue. They talked with me about the symptoms and made their recommendation to repair the mainboard. Other companies I talked to refused to even talk to me and stated that any recommendation is the customer's responsibility. Nick's has excellent communication during the repair process. You're notified when your item arrives at their shop, when it is in the queue for inspection, when its in the queue for repair. After repair, it goes to quality assurance. Mine had to go back to repair twice because it failed QA. I'm glad they were so thorough and found the issue rather than shipping it back to me. You get email updates every step of the way. Don't fall for those cheaper repairs services on eBay. I almost did. You get what you pay for. Without question, next time I need electronics repair, I know where I'm going."
