"Very disappointed with this company. You think after spending just over $1000 you’d get the best experience ever. Absolutely not. While the content that was given, was very knowledgeable and a refresher for some. My issues lie with customer service and the final exam. When it comes to the exam, not once but twice had issues taking it due “timezone issues”. The worst part is when you have an exam scheduled for Eastern Standard Time (which is my time zone) and it’s telling you that it’s Pacific Standard time causing you to miss your exam. Absolute scam and don’t recommend going through them."

"Absolutely crooked organization. Zero stars if I could. Their NASM CPT course is a complete rip off, the testing is a complete pain to complete, and they will purposefully setup the exam to make you fail. I have spent money to retake the exam twice and have nothing to show for it."

"I'm reading all these negative reviews, and although I don't know the full story behind each poor review and the circumstances that caused them, I don't quite understand the anger toward NASM. A little background on me: I was a personal trainer for 9 years, certified through a competing certifying agency. The whole time I was training, I found myself having to work twice as hard to achieve the level of knowledge that my NASM-certified coworkers possessed from their coursework through NASM. Most of us were also in college for health-related fields, but I just always found my personal training-specific knowledge inferior to the others', and I felt I often had to ask them for advice or go home and study and search texts and peer reviewed articles to obtain that level of proficiency. After 9 years, I took a break to start my career, and now I am back trying to re-earn my certification. I made a spreadsheet of pros and cons from 5 different agencies, and I chose NASM without hesitation. The NASM CPT cert is WAY harder than my previous agency's was, which I feel is better because it's SO in depth! Also, all 3 times I needed to contact customer service to ask questions, I got a live human and was treated professionally by a friendly employee. I got the impression that they really enjoy what they do. When I signed up, they even let me switch out a couple of courses in the bundle I purchased since one of them was irrelevant to me and another was equal in price to one I really, really wanted to take. I will update this review once I schedule and complete the exam, but even with all the poor reviews on here I anticipate no issues. I encourage people looking for a certification to strongly consider NASM. Speaking from experience, employers always give a lot of weight and value to this cert, and although it's more difficult, it seems worth the work. I trained for 9 years and I was a pretty good trainer with education in sports science and kinesiology, and I'm about halfway through this course and I have already learned so much more than I already knew! Maybe NASM went through some kind of funk during COVID? Several reviews are from those years. My advice is to use your own judgement, talk to a rep, and do your research and make your own decision."

"Zero Stars - If you want your CPT, don't enroll with NASM. They are financial crooks. I'm going to let everyone I come across in the fitness world aware of this."
