"When this place first opened, it was awesome. The veterinarians were present and conducted the examination of your animal. Over the years, however, students have taken over and quality of care has decreased significantly. A grade 4 heart murmur was missed in my dog and no heart murmur was ever mentioned at ANY POINT in her treatment records. Had it been caught and diagnosed, treatment could have been started. Unfortunately, she passed suddenly and recently because of lack of treatment, thanks to inexperienced students not being able to identify a heart murmur. I also had to fight and argue with the students to get them to perform a simple blood test to confirm my dog had hypothyroidism. They adamantly concluded she did not have it because she "didn't present clinically." They insisted I spend $150 on prescription food instead claiming she has allergies to beef and chicken, but no substantial evidence to support this. When they finally agreed to do the blood test (months later), it came back positive for hypothyroidism. They didn't even apologize for being wrong. They just glossed over the fact they made me spend hundreds of extra dollars conducting other tests rather than the ONE test that confirmed her diagnosis. My dog could have had a better quality of life and more prolonged life but for the ineptitude of the students. I understand it's a teaching hospital, but it's pretty serious when they fail to notice a grade 4 heart murmur and refuse to do a simple blood test. That tells me, supervising veterinarians are NOT conducting any sort of exam or supervising at all. My dog was robbed of months possibly years of her life because students misdiagnosed and failed to accurately diagnose my dog. Will NOT be coming back with my other dogs unless I can see Dr. Bennett and ONLY Dr. Bennett. No student will ever come near my dog again."

"The doctors, both residents and students, have been wonderful. Last summer, I had two very seriously ill dogs who were treated in the emergency room on the same day. Unfortunately, one had to be put down, but the other survived a mysterious illness that the staff diligently worked to diagnose. The doctors were very kind and compassionate when we had to say goodbye to my furbaby, Marley, and didn't nickle-and-dime us on the ashes + paw print (as every other vet does!). The box with his ashes is absolutely gorgeous, too. I felt that my babies got great care at a fraction of the cost for most vets. It made saying goodbye a little easier, knowing that it wasn't costing me a small fortune to do the humane thing for him. I had to take another of my pups there around Thanksgiving and again last week to the emergency room. The prices here are unmatched by any other veterinarians. With x-rays and the emergency exam as well as take-home medicine, it was under $400. Some other vets charge that for exams! I highly recommend Midwestern for affordable, quality care for your pets!"

"I love Midwestern Vet Clinic! I take all of my beloved pigs to the large animal clinic for all of their medical needs. Dr. Ziegler and Dr. Chaka are the kindest and most patient veterinarians! They always take the time to ask questions and get to know my babies. I always feel comfortable leaving them knowing they’re receiving the very best care! Their students are also very kind! The last time I brought a piggy in to be spayed, one of the sweet students had brought in veggies for her. That really warmed my heart and made my piggy so very happy! Their communication is also top notch! Additionally, I’m very grateful they accept payment plans! I can’t recommend this clinic enough!"

"I called several places to get my daughters kitty to be seen with no luck. I called mid western and they had us come right away. We went in thinking he had Asthma and a few hours later we unexpectedly had to euthanize our baby, Mr. Luna. I had 3 kids with me and they were amazing for us. They handled everything with such care, love, compassion and understanding. They explained things thoroughly for my daughter to understand and had amazing love. Thank you!! "By far the best experience I’ve had with vet care for my cat. The vets, students and techs at Midwestern have helped him so much since we started coming here. I had to take him in for an urgent care visit as he was in a lot of pain and bleeding due to dental issues. They took him in no time and started making him comfortable. He had a dental procedure the following morning and stayed overnight for observation. They were very thorough and transparent every step of the way leading to his procedure and through recovery.
