"Quiet relaxing place for a nice hike up the paved hill close to town"
"Great walk. Strenuous at time, but a family friendly path to a scenic view of Tucson. It takes about half an hour to summit this hike if you are walking at a brisk pace. It's about 25 minutes down. No dogs allowed because it is also a research station for the University. Hundreds of people go a day. Careful during the Summer, this is not a walk to be taken lightly in 105+ degree weather."
"This is a great place to get exercise because you're one of many people hiking up a 648-ft hill. You will have to stop and breathe and most likely catch your breath, unless you're in really good shape. During monsoon season at sunset you can have beautiful images in many directions. Often on rainbow and the sunset at the same time. There are rocks to sit on at the top and benches along the way. Wild deer live on the hill, as do javelina. Parking is on the street and after hours it seems safe to park across the street from the park but there are warning signs that you could be towed. Half way up there is water and a couple porta -potties. If you want to compete with others your age and sex, download Strava from the play store or app store. There is a paid or free version. There you can find times for segments on the 1.4 mile trail."
"Pretty cool views, definitely funner if you're one of those rock-flipper people. I found many creatures in one walk, even a gecko. Here's some sort of rat skeleton too (left it under the same rock, good luck finding it)."
"A really beautiful hike that id rate at a difficult level if 3/10. It’s a steep, somewhat truncated path, so it really just takes about 90 minutes up and down (if you take photos and go at a moseying pace like I did). I went around 5:30 in the summer. A bit before sunset, so as I hiked to the top it was pretty sunny but manageable. The best part of that is that the sun was setting once I reached the top and started my decent. Gorgeous views at that time of day, which you’d miss If you start too late. Saw plenty of wildlife. I suggest hiking without headphones to really absorb all that’s happening around you and to hear movement of smaller creatures. I saw some deer, cool birds, lizards, rabbits - but no snakes :/"
