"Throughout my pregnancy, my experience with Dr. Walker was fine. However, I unfortunately learned she is only interested in giving her patients the bare minimum of care. Soon after I delivered my daughter, I suddenly began to experience slurred/impaired speech, blurry vision, memory loss, and confusion. My husband quickly called the nurse and after seeing my symptoms, I was sent to have an MRI and CT scan. After a few hours, my symptoms improved, but we were obviously shaken. Walker came in and said she thought that my symptoms most likely stemmed from exhaustion and my body struggling to recover from childbirth. Ummmm no. In the moment I didn’t question her because I was emotionally exhausted and was recovering from what we learned was a mini stroke (TIA). Luckily for me, I have an uncle who is a doctor and actually interested in advocating for me. When he heard my symptoms via text, he immediately mentioned I might have a hole in my heart (PFO) because it isn’t normal for someone my age to have a mini stroke. A nurse who came in also mentioned that possibility. We brought this up to Walker when I was being discharged, and her reaction was, “well maybe, but it’s on you to look into that.” Six weeks later at my checkup, she didn’t even remember what happened and I felt I had to convince her to even give me a referral to a cardiologist. Long story short, I had two holes in my heart that needed to be surgically repaired. In different circumstances, I could have easily had a devastating stroke at any time because Walker said “it was on me to figure it out.” I don’t think it’s too much to ask of your doctor to actually care about your well being. I’m sure she’s great if you have zero complications, but I didn’t think I had any complications either. If you’re looking for an OB, please look elsewhere."
"During my second pregnancy she commented several times on the fact that I was at high risk because I was over 35 and my first baby had been very large (over 9 pounds). Despite many times commenting on this, there was no effort to do an ultrasound after 17 weeks and no effort to provide any additional care. My child was born and was SERIOUSLY ill at birth (couldn't breath, lungs filled with liquid so badly that her heart barely functioned, had oxygen deprivation and brain damage as a result). Dr. Walker did not check on me ONCE following delivery, I assume because she knew she'd committed malpractice. Additionally, the entire practice made me sign a contract to pay them MORE than they had contracted with my insurance to be paid. AND they had the audacity to send me to collections for something post-pregnancy that their office told me was fully covered by my insurance. She is not a good physician, in my experience, and her practice is not an honest one."
"I have been going to this practice for at least 12 years if not longer, I love the staff and the doctors. My issue this pregnancy (5th) has been I am high risk and have had issues and I have seen an actual doctor 1 time. I haven’t even met the Dr who is scheduled to preform my c section in 2 weeks. If this was my first pregnancy I would probably switch providers even though I absolutely love everyone at the office."
"Dr. Kathryn E. Walker helped deliver our son 22 years ago at Alta View Hospital. I remember each visit, she always greeted us with a kind smile and genuine care. At the time my wife and I both did not speak nor understand English very well. I remembered laughing with my wife while Dr. Walker was doing some gestures explaining certain procedures to help us understand better. She was very kind and patience. In the last few weeks of my wife pregnancy, I was getting more and more worry for both my wife and the baby since this is our first child. Dr. Walker assured me that the baby and my wife are healthy, I have nothing to worry about! The Day finally come, and sure enough both mom and the baby have no complications and very healthy. All three of us my wife, myself and of course our son all cry with tears of joy. At the time I don’t think I have thank Dr Walker enough for making my wife’s labor with such amazing and professional care. Dr. Walker we are grateful to be under your care and your help. Thank you very much for your kind service."
"Dr. Walker is remarkable. I appreciate her professionalism and surgical expertise. I never had a single doubt that she would deliver my baby boy safely. She listened to my concerns at my appointment and remembered me the day of surgery. Highly recommend!"
