"I am a parent of three children who have been in productions at Banzerini House. My youngest is the most heavily invested. We found Banzerini after being unhappy with our experience at another theatre. The first thing that struck me is that Banzerini doesn’t treat auditions like a cattle call, and you won’t see multiple casts. They aren’t about how much money they can pull in. The focus is on taking a small group of children and educating them, teaching them every facet of making a successful production happen. They learn set design, they learn to sew a make costumes, they learn tech and sound and they get to work with professionals in the industry. They have an amazingly qualified musical director, a professional dance instructor and they bring in a dialect coach when required, such as perfecting a British accent for Mary Poppins. There is so much attention to detail in these productions, and the education and work ethic instilled into these children are invaluable. There is no ‘pay to play’. Children get the roles they worked for and earned and not the ones their parents pay for. That is a refreshing change from the last theatre we attended. Every child gets a chance to shine at Banzerini. Don’t pay any attention to the disgruntled parent’s review being upset that his kid couldn’t miss mandatory dress rehearsals at his leisure. There is plenty of flexibility, and we all submit our conflict calendars. Anyone that knows anything about theatre knows you don’t simply not show up during tech week and dress rehearsals. One of the qualities of Banzerini that sets them apart from neighboring theatres is the annual short film the kids get to act in. The third short film will start filming this month. It is an amazing experience for the children with a professional team of accredited producers, camera crew and production staff from Los Angeles. Their first short film won several awards in film festivals with their second going into film festivals this year. The children will also get to spend a week in Hollywood this summer attending workshops and performing Revenge of The Space Pandas at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. This non profit production company and children’s theatre is providing so much for their young members and giving the community beautiful musicals and plays to enjoy. They are well deserving of 5 stars, and any community support is thoroughly appreciated."
"I've been going to see shows here for 3 years and fell in love with the mission and vision of this theatre. So much so that I now volunteer to help with whatever is needed. It's a great place for kids to learn about being part of the theatre and not just about being the lead role in a play."
"I was able to watch the Beauty and the Beast last week. The location is pretty cool. I was captured by the set design, lights and ambiance. But what really caught my attention were the actors, who all appeared to be grade school through high school age. This play was so good that when I excited the performance, I expected to be walking out of an off broadway show. If you want to be part of something really cool; support the Banzerini House."
"Two-parter. As a parent of a BH performer and as a viewer of the shows. Parent: Angela, the director, has been able to transform children with no acting or musical experience into incredible performers who have confidence and poise. She uses the kids to help with set design, so they are gaining and using other artistic skills beyond the performing arts. I could not be more pleased with BH as a parent. Viewer of the shows: The passion and effort is obvious. The sets are so well done with great attention to detail. The lengths BH went to decorate the set for "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" were mind-blowing. The costumes are also terrific and BH does a great job with hair and makeup. The shows have all been cute, funny, and endearing and Angela always seems to be able to put the actors in their "right" role. The product you get for the price of a ticket makes it a great outing option for any budget and for the whole family. I could not speak more highly of Banzerini House!"
"Banzerini House is a family. My daughter and I are doing our first play right now and it is an absolutely amazing experience. Personally I have gained so much confidence as well as poise an actress, with the love and guidance of Angela and the rest of the staff. My 5 year old daughter absolutely cannot wait to go back each week. She even loves rehearsals! I am so amazed how much better my daughter has been listening at home and even at school after weeks of being part of the play. Angela and the staff work hard to make everyone feel welcome and help us grow and learn as artists. I’m so grateful for Banzerini House and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to be a part of a community as well as grow your creativity! I’m forever grateful to be part of the family! ❤️"
