Reviews of Root for Kids (formerly The Learning Center for Families)
"We love our Marnie she was a wonderful teacher to my three year old when she was in the program."
"My child has been going to this daycare for a little while now. When she was in the younger 1-2 year old group she loved coming to daycare. The staff seemed so sweet and kind. Ever since she switched to the older kids 2-3 y. o. She cries and begs me not to drop her off at daycare. That doesn't make a mom feel good. Furthermore about a little over a month ago I observed one of the staff members pull a child up on his one arm in the air and shrugged him off the table in an aggressive manner. I was mind blown that she would treat a child like that in front of a parent. That makes me wonder how she acts when she is alone with the kids. I had observed her for a few weeks before that incident and she never seemed too nice to the kids but rather impatient, rude and aggressive. I remember seeing that incident and I felt sick to my stomach. I talked to her supervisor and reported the incident. The girl was never fired and she still works there. I would never want anyone to treat my child like that and I haven't felt comfortable with that staff member being around my child. When it comes to child safety and well being there should be proper child handling and that staff member clearly is not fit for her position as a caregiver. A caregiver should be patient and kind. After discussing with grandparents and dad we all decided that it's best if we take our child out of daycare from there. Our child continuously would come home with multiple bruises, bloody noses, bite marks and more. We are just not sure how well our child is even being watched, since occasional "ouchies" should be fine but signing multiple incident reports a day should not be the case. I hope they can get a replacement for that staff member and can insure better care and watch over the kids. For now at this time I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS DAYCARE. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND IF YOU FEEL LIKE STAFF MEMBERS DO NOT TREAT KIDS RIGHT YOU SHOULD REPORT IT IMMIDIATELY."
"My wife and I have used this service for two years now. Never having actually been to their main facility I can't speak for it. I can say, however that the services are invaluable... For someone else. My wife and I do a lot of reading and research on our own so when it comes to the "learning" part it's kind of a bust. Our counselors have always been great and patient. Some of the girls we've met have definitely never seen the world outside southern Utah though. If you're a first time parent, this place is for you. If you're a pregnant teen who still thinks it might be a puppy, this place it for you. If you feel like you might need a little help with potty training or teaching your child to talk or walk... This is the place for you. If you like statistics, this is the place for you. If you like to meet people and you want your child exposed to many other children then this is perfect for you. The free diapers is kind of a perk too."
"This company is so awesome. From the work that they provide to the company and how they take care of their staff. This company would be a great one to work for or to utilize for their services I highly recommend this company."
"TLC was amazing with my 2 year old. He had a speech delay and they were extremely helpful in administering and finding the best solutions for him. The Kindermusik classes were lots of fun too."
