"As a practitioner it is beyond me why an office of clinicians would accept such rude employees as representatives of themselves. I have fired employees for treating my clients in the manner patients are treated here, but my action took place on the first offense. Protection of our patients/clients not only involves intervention plans, it involves respectful treatment on first contact. Our intake staff are the first contact. Patients don’t seek our help because they feel well, instead they come into our office scared and worried about their future. Meeting such rude, disrespectful, awful people such as the intake staff here is nothing less than deplorable. They add to the anxiety and fear experienced by those who are already in a hyper vigilant state of mind. I cannot stress enough how important it is to walk away, and quickly, from this office. Seek another urologist, there are many excellent urologists located in the greater Phoenix area. I’ve been with Dr Bigelow for many years, unfortunately I’ve now made the decision to leave his practice."

"The care I received at Ironwood Urology was excellent. Dr. Bigelow paid particular attention to some specific health issues I have and produced outstanding results in surgery. The staff at the Phoenix 48th Street location was also top notch. From the front office staff to the individual nurses, they were courteous, sensitive and responsive to my needs. I would also like to give a shout out to Maria! She is amazing! She produced a level of care that was extremely friendly and personal. They are lucky to have her and I am grateful for her care."

"I have never been more disrespected by any institution in my entire life than I have been by ironwood urology. They do not value your time or your person. Is a 12:30pm appointment the same thing as a 2pm appointment? Nope, not in my book. The front desk personnel tho, fail to grasp the concept of time. Additionally, they lack the decency to inform you upon your arrival that the doctor is running behind schedule. Communication is key, and this is a key they lack, heavily. I would recommend avoiding this place like the plague. I felt sympathy for all the people in the waiting room as I left the institution, knowing that they will be stuck there for eternity waiting to see the doctor."

"Awful scheduling. We made an appointment over the phone and apparently they forgot to share that with the urology office or doctor. They may use a third party service for scheduling which may be the problem. After being denied our appointment in the office, or even our existence in their system, I called back over the phone and they understood the situation and even knew who we were, so they put me on hold to call the office. After a moment they pick up again and all of a sudden didn’t understand anything and we had no appointment. Not even an acknowledgement that they may have made a mistake or an apology for the inconvenience. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else, we definitely will."

"Think twice before using this place, especially if you only wanna pay what they quote you. I was charged a whole thousand more than quoted, and apparently that doesn’t include doctor visits that follow the procedure. They continue to tell me that I owe 200 per visit for follow up, bad enough they charged me 10 grand, and my buddy got this done a year earlier and only paid 8 grand with without paying afterwards. Dr Avila and his associates up front. The black lady who I believe is the office manager is extremely rude, but that’s probably why they only have 2 stars!"
