"Dr Braun consistently listens to me and relates closely to my case. She and I come to many agreements regarding how to proceed with my treatment and my monitoring. She always includes me in these decisions and we come up with a plan that we both agree on. She is a great communicator."
"Dr. Santarelli provided excellent care before, during, and after my surgery. He was super informative and took the time to answer all questions we had. I highly recommend him and his Team. -Tony Gerlach"
"Definitely stay away!! The 1 star reviews are accurate. I first went to Barrow to see a movement disorder specialist and had my appointment via telehealth. The resident interrupted me rudely saying I was talking too much when I was listing textbook symptoms of my disorder. Not even 5 minutes into the appt. He said we need to focus on one thing. I was if he’d listen?? I saw the attending who wanted to do an EMG even though I said I’ve already had one from my general neurologist who diagnosed me with neuropathy etc.. unrelated to my movement disorders! I did their EMG anyway and they said results were inconclusive, smiled in my face as they dropped me. After that i started getting letters from Barrow every month asking for money! They do not care about patients! They’re a greedy corporation. Then I’m referred again years later in 2023 for other issues. it took months to hear from them and make an appt. Once I got in to see them, the resident talked to me for awhile then the attending came in for a couple minutes and tried to tell me my symptoms were side effects from my meds even though I kept saying I’ve been dealing with this way before I was on *any* meds. They wanted to do an EMG so i just let them do it again. They’ll say you’re combative or noncompliant if you don’t want to do a test. The EMG went fine but the doctor who came in afterwards said nothing showed up even though my general neuro diagnosed me before (had more than one done by them too). I said that, asked why this EMG is negative and the doctor had the audacity to insult my neuro saying they didn’t do the test right even though my symptoms line up perfectly. EMG’s aren’t reliable tests but “the best” hospital managed to not find anything every time they tried while my gen neuro could. He said since my EMG’s were both negative the times BARROW did them I’m fine so I just told him then you’re wrong both times. These doctors need to be put in their place and do their jobs which is to help people. My follow up was with a different doctor in a different building which is so confusing for me. The new doc who I just met when she walked in diagnosed me with FND which is just the throwaway diagnosis they give people when they don’t feel like actually figuring stuff out. Insisted I must be depressed and should go to therapy. I already have a psychiatrist and on meds. She only saw me for 5 minutes before she said I could get a second opinion they know but I said no thanks. I don’t trust anyone they’d refer me to. If my general neurologist could diagnose and treat all my conditions I’d just stick with them! Barrow is “the best” at being a bad hospital."
"Barrow’s medical record team is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Besides the fact the IVR sends you to St Joe hospital and not to the Barrows medical records, the staff is incompetent and rude. Every other provider is able to get my records request upon first request within 1 week.. this is the 3rd time I have had to follow up with multiple over the phone ROIs. When I ask for a name for my records I’m refused with a certain typical attitude. Heaven forbid you show frustration because a 20 yr old whose has ZERO professional speaking skills scolds you. I had to move to across country to get diagnosed with Emery Defrisus after being with Barrows 6 yrs and 100s of thousands of dollars in testing.. terrible"
"Dr. William Kennedy and his staff are all awesome people. They spent time explaining to me what they have to do, why they do it and how they do it. If you need a doctor in his field, this is the place to go, you will not be disappointed. I pray for God's blessings on them."
