"Upon my first visit with Pima Heart and Vascular on Orange Grove road, I was a bit disappointed in the front office staff and the lack of sensitivity in dealing with patients waiting at the front desk. However, I decided to give the practice a second chance. I can't speak for other patients' methods for choosing healthcare, but for me it is my RIGHT as a patient to have confidence in the competence of who is treating my very serious illnesses. It starts at the front desk. Today after arriving 15 minutes before my appointment, I waited almost two hours to be roomed, even though I was told the doctor was not running behind. I sat in the waiting area directly across from the reception desk. With the exception of two front desk staff members, Marisol and Destiny who were visibly interested in helping patients, the others were chit chatting and joking with each other, on their phones watching videos, and taking personal calls. All while patients were waiting to get checked in at the desk. Even overheard two of them making negative comments and laughing at the length of a patient's shorts when he was leaving. Only after asking for the name of the office manager, was I was finally taken to a room and still waited another 20 minutes for Dr. Bejarano. Once in the room, I explained that I had been waiting two hours and asked that he wait to begin to allow me an opportunity to express my concerns. I explained that the front office is the patient's first line of confidence in a practice and his initial representation as a physician in that practice. I was so floored by his response. Dr. Bejarano responded by saying, "Brenda, honey, then don't use us." First of all, "honey" is not my name and he was very condescending with it's use. I told him I found his response unprofessional and decided to leave. At which point he stated for me to call Northwest Allied for a cardiologist. This is not an automotive shop where if a mistake is made because of incompetence, you can go get another. This is a Life! And there are no replacements if a physician screws up. I mentioned my caution to him and referenced a case in public records showing a 2009 lawsuit that Pima Heart was named in and found liable because a patient in distress died due to negligence. A $1 million dollar decision in favor of the patient's family. Tsk tsk!"

"I was called in at my appointment time. I was there for an Echo of my heart and it was done in a professional manner. I was pleased with the technician and her skills."

"I called to share my most recent health issues. It took 45 minutes to speak to someone who could help me. I was asked to come in for an EKG. That was handled quickly when I arrived. Assessment and EKG sent to physician along with my concerns. All addressed by him and medication adjusted"
