"I recently spent a week at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital recovering from complications after my ablation. My wife and I would like to recognize every single one of the Nurses and Technicians who cared for me during my stay. Every individual we encountered during those 8 days was warmhearted, efficient, and informative, and made me feel I was his or her top priority during their shift. Several of them took extra care while drawing blood (especially at 3am), explaining and answering my questions about the different meds, communicating with my Doctor and the Hospitalist, and even ordering my breakfast one day when I woke too groggy to do so myself. I cannot thank each of them enough for the care and compassion I received and hope this statement will help them know how much their hard work and dedication meant to me and my wife."
"Wendy - lady who gave me the test was absolutely amazing. I have been desperately searching for a place who does “tilt table test” for over 5 years I finally found one ended up here. I had a wonderful experience which is not something I get to say very often. I got the test done and got results of it the same day. I cried tears of happiness to finally be acknowledged instead of gaslight. #POTS #DYSAUTONOMIA #SYNCOPE #DIZZINESS"
"We cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff and tender care and concern that was given my friend who entered the hospital for heart issues this week and had a small stroke right in front of the staff. I was able to stay in the room for two nights while they figured out what caused the crisis. We are grateful to God that his speech, words, thoughts and motor skills were recovered within hours. But the concern and care he was given by everyone within his care circle, 2nd floor unit B of ICU, was wonderful and made us know we were in the best possible place we could be. We have returned home to IL but would not otherwise hesitate to have follow up care with Abrazo AZ Heart Hospital. Thank you to everyone who was involved. Mary and Steve"
"I recently had a heart ablation procedure performed at AAHH. I arrived at the appointed time and was immediately checked in and taken to a private pre-op room. I was prepped and then visited by an anesthesiologist and my cardiologist. They took the time to explain exactly what the procedure would involve. I was then transported to the surgery room on schedule. The procedure, post op recovery process, and checkout all went smoothly. A nurse phoned me the following day to make sure all was well. The administrative personnel, nurses, cardiologist, and anesthesiologist were all professional, cordial and efficient. My entire experience at AAHH was excellent."
"This place sucks. It’s disgusting. Nurses were neglectful. Never changed the linens or cleaned room on a 3 day stay. Left bruised after multiple misses with an iv, wounds were never dressed so bled onto sheets that were not changed for three days. Took about 10 hours to discharge and fed only 3 times the entire stay. Any time a food order was placed it was always 2-3 hours late and cold when arrived. Nurses never came when call button was pushed. When concerns were brought up with dr and nurses they argued with us and told us that it was our fault that we didn’t voice our concern with them when the discrepancies were happening. They blamed us for staying too long and refusing to get discharged when we didn’t know we were getting discharged in the first place. Dr. Shen was belittling and rude and does not know how to communicate with patients. He told us that he could not do anymore things for us because the patient “is not dying” and is in fact “wasting resources” by being there, which again WAS OUT OF OUR CONTROL as we had been waiting there at that point for 8 hours, not hooked up to a monitor, no vitals run, no communication from nurses and staff, literally just sitting there for 8 hours waiting for god knows what. Dr Shen also never followed up with providing a patient advocate and when asking nurses to tell us how to reach a patient advocate they told us that we could only access them through the dr. who, again, never followed up with access to a patient advocate. Even after confronting the nurses and staff we waited for 2 more hours to be discharged, which is understandable, but frustrating considering the total amount of time waiting to leave was about 10 hours. Other things to mention is Drs, nurses, all hospital staff, move freely without ANY ppe between rooms with infectious patients and presumably immunocompromised patients who, as reported by Dr shen, are on the brink of dying. We NOT ONCE saw or heard any one wipe down any surfaces let alone shared surfaces, which was especially alarming after learning of the state of other patients. I understand that nurses and staff cannot get to everyone equally but at the very least their communication and sanitation standards should be re-evaluated."
