"My recent stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites Scottsdale North - Airpark was marked by a series of unfortunate events that significantly dampened the overall experience. Despite the potential of its location and facilities, the hotel fell short in delivering the comfort and service expected from such an establishment. Firstly, the air conditioning unit in our room was a constant source of annoyance. It produced a loud racket whenever it was operational, disrupting our peace and making it difficult to enjoy a good night's sleep. Despite informing the hotel staff of this issue early during our two-week stay, no effective action was taken to rectify the problem. This lack of response to a basic comfort requirement was disappointing. Another significant issue arose with the breakfast inclusion. We booked our room under the impression that breakfast was included for all three guests staying. However, it turned out that this amenity was only available for two of us. When we brought this to the attention of the hotel management, it took considerable effort and negotiation to have the third breakfast included, a gesture that came across as reluctant on the part of the manager. The manager (Angi) insisted that the details were incorrect on the website we booked on - even though we booked through IHG (the owners of the hotel); I am assuming this is some sort of franchising issue. This situation highlighted a lack of flexibility and customer focus that one would not expect from a hospitality provider. The reception staff were competent, although I found their mannerisms to border on insincere, which might simply be a cultural difference in the expression of friendliness. This observation is not a major critique but something that stood out to me during interactions. Moreover, the expectation of daily tips for the breakfast service struck me as unusual. Coming from a European background where tipping practices differ significantly, this expectation added an unexpected layer to the dining experience, making it somewhat uncomfortable. In conclusion, while the Holiday Inn & Suites Scottsdale North - Airpark might offer a convenient location for travelers, my experience was marred by issues that could have been easily addressed with better management and customer service practices. The lack of attention to guest comfort and satisfaction was evident in both the unresolved problem with our room's air conditioner and the unnecessary complications regarding our breakfast arrangement. Based on these experiences, I find it difficult to recommend this hotel to others, especially for those looking for a hassle-free stay in Scottsdale."
"I travel a lot and spend more time in a hotel than at home and I've always had great experiences with Holiday Inn Express so I even had given up my loyalty to Hampton Inn.. until today. My first night on Monday Paul checked me in and he was so friendly and fantastic- great start... then the real experience began. When I would get back from the location I was assigned to at midnight the staff would be goofing off so loud that I would get up and close the atrium door. The toilet would always run so I would have to get up and fix the plug so it would stop, until it would start running again, which could be where the bugs in the bathroom were coming from. The other issues I had were out of the control of the hotel so no point in bringing those up. EXCEPT this morning. At 6am I got a bill under my door that had extra items on it so I went and Paul fixed it immediately because I had purchased the food when he was working and I have been so sick that I have not eaten all week. I finally went back to sleep and the housekeeper came in so I realized I had overslept and jumped up to pack up my stuff and leave. The checkout on the east coast is always noon, I made a human mistake of sleeping after being sleep deprived for a week (I checked out on Friday) Kayla called my room at 11:42 and said "Um yeah checkout was an hour ago you need to.." and I interrupted her and told her I was packing my stuff and leaving but she had so much attitude it sounded like a daddy's girl not getting her way. It was the most unprofessional thing I had ever heard. Why not start with "Hi, we were just checking to see if you were okay because checkout was at 11 and our housekeeper said you were still asleep" I told her when I left how rude she was when speaking to a guest that just spent about $1000 there, I would not stay at an IHG hotel again nor would my team and I also plan my family member who is whatever level gets 2pm check out about this experience all because of her. I told her I had been downstairs at 6 to fix my bill and she said something about my bill being wrong because the food shop was closed, why would that matter if there were items I did not purchase charged to my room? I haven't been able to eat in a week. And she said "okay good, bye!" Customer service just hasn't been the same since Covid, it is our privilege to let them check us in to where we paid over $200 to stay. At least for this girl who assumes she's a princess. I haven't had someone treat me that way for making a human mistake since I was in high school. Sorry for accidentally not setting my alarm on a day I finally didn't have to work mid day. So here I am at my room at the Hampton Inn, unsure why I ever stopped coming here consistently in the first place. The TVs are better and they offer you free bottled water at check in. I don't have a problem with other locations but do yourself a favor and stay away from this one."
"The service was unbelievable! I walked in to a sign welcoming me as guest of the day before we checked in. The treated me to a chocolate cake, free drinks and free breakfast for all my guests. They also upgraded our room to a suite. I would definitely recommend staying here as the staff treats you very well!"
"Enjoyed my stay, suite was exactly what I needed for me and my family, nice to be able to cook in room. I was really disappointed by the lack of a complimentary coffee and tea stand, that is a standard I am accustomed to in holiday inn hotels. The breakfast was disappointing considering it wasn't complimentary, convenience was really what we paid for but I'd recommend going out instead or cooking in your room. Get your coffee stand set up like every other holiday inn."
"Hotel was just what we needed. Comfy bed, large space, and friendly staff. We loved the spas and swimming in the beautiful pool!! It was the perfect temperature! Great stay!!! Thank you to Angi, the Assistant General Manager for a warm welcome and a great experience!"
