The park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with maintenance closures on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The park, formerly known as Silverbell Park, was renamed in 1990 in honor of Christopher Columbus by the Tucson chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and pay homage to the famous explorer while exploring the park's amenities.

"Very pretty park. People fishing, picnicking, duck/bird watching, dog walking, kayaking, relaxing, people operating their remote control boats and airplanes. 2 dog parks. 1 for big dogs 1 for little dogs. Bathrooms. Covered parking. Next to the bike trail."
"This is a very nice place for walking, fishing bird watching, and play Pokémon Go. Be careful the road is very narrow driving in and out. The restroom were closed"

"9/23/2023: Visiting from Ohio, my 2nd Tucson visit, this was one of the nicest parks I've been to. The lake is serene & with plenty of shade there for walkers & fishermen alike. The walk around the lake gives many alternate views of it."
