"Verify medicine in the bag at pick up.If you call before pick up, but there is not likely to be anyone to pick up the phone. Scrip system for electronic prescriptions had problems on 2/21/24 and I am not able to get medicine now for 2 days after being in the store 2 times, calling my doctor 2 times to resend 3 times. The second time I was asked for a manual fax from my doctors office. This is the only pharmacy in Bisbee. Im disappointed because I do not like to write reviews like this! But for people who need their medicine, this is not a good situation. If there is a procedure in place for system outage, please communicate it to customers for understanding or an alternative. I was offered a Safeway discount by pharmacy staff in leiu of the challenges they were experiencing, if I chose to pay out of pocket for the medicine. This serves the store and if a customer is absolutely in need, they have to. The system works all the way around for the retail pharmacy with access to insurances and to the medicine, but the customer must make the choice to play the game whenever there is a technical problem. Apologies."
"My clinic uses an electronic system to send scripts to pharmacies. I have had good luck with Safeway in the past and it is conveniently located. I went to pick up given ample time in the late afternoon. I was told my scripts were never received. The next day I called the clinic to resend- but they verified scripts were sent at 2 pm just after I left their office- they sent again. Stopped into the pharmacy nearly 24 hours later. "No scripts". The pharmacy associate stated "the system has been down". I was told I should call the Drs office again and have them faxed! Gee, too bad for me that I cant get my medicine! Couldnt I have been told that the previous day so I could help the process if the system was down then?"
"The pharmacists have always been helpful, but I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a young woman behind the counter with a hostile attitude. I found myself arguing with her! They had partially refilled an rx a week earlier, and she said that was impossible. It took several minutes of trying to convince her of this, while she told me how long she'd worked there and how I was wrong; that they never do partial rx's. until she finally looked it up on her computer and confirmed I was correct. Instead of apologizing for being so rude and antagonistic, she dismissed me, telling me I should call my doctor to call it in again, even though it had been called in the week before. What? Sierra Vista is not that far away! Better than this abuse."
"Its slow don't expect your meds to be ready for pete sake learn to be punctual and reliable. If u cant order melatonin my insurance will pay for but u can order stuff they don't get a new vendor! Jeez in phoenix every one would be fired I've never seen such an unorganized place of medicine!!!"
"I've been going to Safeway Pharmacy for 10 years now. Yes. Up until the past few months they had staffing and training issues and I would have given them maybe 2 stars . However, over the past few months I see that management has really tried to improve efficiency and customer service. Everyone I have encountered at the window the past 8 months has been nice and helpful. A couple of times I had to wait for my Rx even though I received a text stating my script was ready to p/u; and once I was erroneously given someone elses Rx which I caught right away while at the window. The tech apologized profusely and immediately corrected the issue. A little patience , understanding and a kind word on our part goes a long way............"
