"I needed carpet replaced in a bedroom and had another company do the measurements. When I went to purchase the carpet, I found out that it would take 4 to 6 weeks for them to get it from the manufacturer. I couldn’t wait that long and contacted Baker Bros and worked with Barbara Hunter. She came to do the measurements herself the same evening and followed up to make sure the carpet was in stock, and that it got on the truck. We were able to get our carpet installed in less than a week. If you have flooring needs and want amazing customer service, quality flooring, and fast install, I highly recommend Baker Bros and Barbara Hunter."
"Barbara was great to work with from the moment I walked in the door! Multiple samples that I took home to decide on the right carpet and discussing with her was so helpful! Our installation was done after we left AZ for the season last spring. When we walked in this winter, we were thrilled with our choice. Even with our absence, we found our home in perfect order. I highly recommend this company!!!!"
"Excellent experience! Barbara really listened to us and took the time to show us different options. She was patient and aftet after the sale she kept us informed about installation and the order's status. She helped us in so many ways and was phenomenal with her customer service. In the future we will talk with her first about our flooring and window covering needs!"
"Followup edit in response to owner, who wrote: "In the interest of an accommodation, we did as you mentioned, agree to refund the sealing charge." This is simply untrue. We were told, twice, in writing, that no accommodation would be forthcoming. We're prepared to live with some uneven tile, though it's disappointing, since the alternative would be removing and reinstalling, which seemed very unlikely to happen. We sought a refund for a service (sealing) that months passing showed never happened, or was done with a substandard product. This is a "one year later" review, reflecting how we feel after living with the floor. Original Review: We went with Baker Bros because we hoped it would mean great service and a reliable company we could return to if there were problems. Neither has been the case. The sales service was great, but the installation and customer service were terrible. We chose a light gray tile and light gray grout for the whole (2300 sq ft) house, and paid an additional charge to have the grout sealed. Baker sent a crew of just two who, after a couple of days of removing the old tile, carpet and baseboards, became a crew of one, as the other was sent off to another job that was behind schedule. While on that other job, he injured his back, and didn’t come back for several days. Meanwhile, the one remaining installer had a family emergency and wasn’t able to come for a few days. Things happen, of course, but we were renting a house to stay out of the way, and delays were very expensive. Baker didn’t communicate with us (crew just didn’t show up), didn’t send other installers, were slow to respond when asked, and dismissive. So, being behind schedule, when they did return, the installers rushed to finish. They either just tiled over two slab cracks we’d paid extra to have sealed, or didn’t allow the filler time to cure properly, as they had the other cracks. Walking across the floor, it’s easy to tell that on many tiles, one end is higher than the other, and not flush with the tiles around it. Worst of all, though, the grout was not properly sealed, and has darkened over the last year, so that now we have dark gray grout around light gray tile, far from the intended look. Baker claimed to have used a grout additive rather than a traditional sealant put on after the grout cures. I saw no evidence of an additive (the crew left their tools and materials every night), and the grout’s own instructions call for a sealant after a few days of curing. Skipping sealing, of course, means they don’t have to return and can move on to the next job. Baker has refused to take any action, though all we asked for was a refund of the $770 sealing charge (out of a $35,000 job). We’re now paying $2000 to have the tile and grout professionally cleaned (the tile is also hazy from hastily sponged off grout), recolored, and sealed, just one year after install. Once again we’ll have to move everything off of the floors to do this. We had all-tile floors with light gray grout, properly sealed and maintained, in our previous house for 15 years. We know how to care for it. This was, plain and simple, sloppy work, rushed to get on to some other job, which Baker declines to make even a gesture to fix. It’s the classic contractor story of having someone else’s job prioritized ahead of yours, but we’d hoped for more from Baker Bros. You can do better with someone else."
"So pleased that I chose Baker Bros for getting new flooring done for my office. Looks really great, the install was perfect, and was kept in my budget! Ask for Barbara, she is the best!"
