"I’d gone to see this surgeon with the hopes of getting some help, maybe even an ounce of compassion...I was sadly mistaken. He and his stenographer walked into my new patient appointment and without reviewing my history he exclaimed that I “needed to lose weight and that he couldn’t fix all my numerous problems (as I’d filled out his extensive new pt paperwork) go to physical therapy and he’d see me in six months!” He proclaimed that I’d had an “open” mri and that it was poor imagery, so he didn’t believe it’s outcome. He refused to reorder a new MRI as I’d requested. He literally spent an entire 4 minutes with me at that appointment! I wound up obtaining a new “closed cervical MRI” study...myelomalacia, amongst stenosis, spondylosis and more. Also obtained a lumbar closed mri and X-ray showing the need of a combined anterior, posterior and lateral approach to repair my lumber spine. Needless to say I didn’t return to see Chang. I was treated with prejudice and disrespect. His arrogance was incomprehensible. I’m so very happy I am having my upcoming cervical and lumbar surgeries elsewhere. What brought me to Barrows in the first place was the exceptional care I’d received by Dr. Timothy Harrington in the early 1990’s for my 1st lumbar surgery. It’s disheartening to see that Dr’s like Chang are allowed to treat people in this fashion! I’d give him zero stars if that were an option. CORRECTION********ive attempted to retract this posting.
