Reviews
"Dr. O is the best dentist I've ever had, and I'm 45 so I've seen things. He is kind, takes time to explain what is needed and does great work. Virginia, the office manager, is both sweet and efficient. I read a bad review here and I have a hard time believing that person as I have had a completely opposite experience, for years. I don't trust the validity of a review that complains about the decor and makes assumptions instead of stating facts. I know you will love this office as much as I do!"
"I have been coming to them since 2016 and can't say enough good things. They are a caring, punctual, detailed, immaculate office, friendly staff and no hidden charges Oh and not a chain dentistry. Which means personalized care. I recommend them to everyone."
"I'm sorry this is such a long review, but I am disabled and this is my experience. The office staff was nice enough and the dental assistant thorough, however I had some major insurance issues here. I just got the feeling money was of utmost importance. My advice to the practice would be to keep updated on what insurance you accept and changes to existing insurance companies (mergers/acquisitions for example). And if you decide not to accept a certain insurance anymore, kindly REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE PROVIDER DIRECTORY. A night guard was recommended at O Dentistry, so I purchased the suggested one out-of-pocket. Come to find out at my new dentist, my insurance covers a custom occlusal guard 100%. (Why was I paying for an inferior one myself then?) Something tells me it wasn't mentioned because my insurance likely wouldn't reimburse the full amount billed, but that's okay because I'm not returning. Also, I was charged for a covered service and reimbursed weeks later when the claim was paid which is a big no-no for someone on Medicare and Medicaid enrolled in QMB. (No lie, billing dual eligible QMBs for covered services is ILLEGAL under federal and state law, and that's exactly what happened. Don't believe it? Look it up.) I should say I don't know if this illegality extends to supplemental coverage such as dental, but it is absolutely the case regarding medical claims. The people were nice (?), but I left feeling like I had some kind of shady, inferior insurance which I don't. Actually-- quite the opposite. It's a Medicare advantage plan with a third party dental provider and it covers A LOT-- $4000/year, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatment all with $0 copay. I got the feeling O Dentistry wasn't making enough money off me if I continued to go there, so I would likely receive service based on cost rather than need, which is unethical. (I mean, that gross old lady decor in the waiting room doesn't pay for itself, I guess). I would warn people who have Medicare D-SNPs not to go here, because plan benefits apparently befuddle the front office even though the practice is listed in the provider directory. Be an advocate for yourself and read up on HMOs vs. PPOs and dental billing before you let anyone work on your teeth. Anyway, I'm happy now I can put my insurance to good use at my new dentist. Sometimes a change of providers makes all the difference in the world. Update: My new dentist referred me to a periodontist for my badly receding gumline which I've known about for years. The periodontist recommended a tissue graft-- not just for aesthestics, either. Turns out, my insurance covers it! I doubt I would have even gotten that referral from O Dentistry, who seemed primarily concerned about the cost of a panoramic x-ray, first and foremost."
"Dr. O treats 6 members of our family. He is very kind and patient with our younger kids. They love to get a prize from his treasure box after their visit. We have been going to him for a few years now and I highly recommend him as your family dentist. The entire staff is friendly and Dr. O will always treat you with the utmost care!"
