"Upon doing a lot of research on a good and experienced hair stylist, I found hair by Kim. I was so impressed with how professional looking Kim and her suite looked, her website and profile photos. I’ve only had my sister do my hair and wanted to give Kim a chance to do what I was looking for. After I made my appt, I arrived and she was very nice and used great products. I didn’t have any clue that she would destroy my color. When she told me what to expect on my 1st appt, I was expecting a thorough consultation before the highlighting. She basically asked me “so you want to go lighter, right”? And I said yes. That was the end of our consultation. She didn’t leave the lightener on long enough and used a very ashy toner. I had grey and orange tones and it wasn’t bright hi-lights and a beige toner like I wanted. On top of that I had saved money and paid a pretty penny on the services. I then asked her for a refund due to how horrible my hair looked. She refused and offered to correct for me. She said she would clarify, put more face frame hi lights and re tone. I ended up clarifying the night before I saw her again and she put a couple more hi lights around my face and re toned. She didn’t even offer to blow dry it, only to “scrunch” it because I have curly hair. Once I got home to blow dry it to check out the “correction”, my hair was now a muddy, dull, still orange at the roots, even worse color! When I originally went to see her, I just needed some touch up on my roots and more hi-lights in the back. The rest of my hair was my natural color. It should’ve been fairly easy to lift my hair to bright beige toned hi-lights like I asked. I then asked for her to refund me again and she only refunded half of the color services. I’m very disappointed and now I’m stuck with this ugly hair color and gave to save up for a real color correction. What’s really sad is she was so nice and we had a great conversation but she rushed the processing time and didn’t put the right toner. I never write bad reviews but this was a really terrible experience!"
