Reviews
"We got delivery from the restaurant and tried a variety of items - all that were very fresh and tasty. The tortilla soup was a bit spicy vs. other restaurants, which I greatly enjoyed. The street corn was fresh and hit the spot. My friend enjoyed her vegan tacos and vegan queso. I highly recommend trying this place."
"The food was good, but not what it used to be. The service was ok... The person taking our order didn't really listen to what we wanted, and ingredients we asked to be excluded. The patio is really poorly maintained though. Stains on every single piece of furniture and a lot of bird poo."
"Once again, Tocaya exceeded our expectations. The food is so fresh and delicious. The Original Margarita is fresh (no bottled mixer) and one of the best I’ve had along with the price being unbeatable. We love coming ourselves but love bringing our out of town guests to experience it as well. The manager came by to check on all the tables and was so personable and fun to talk to. He really cares about his customers have the ultimate experience."
"Food is good and they have some organic ingredients which is great. But they are a little expensive for what you get. Love the modern Mexican theme. The servers are friendly and will try to accommodate you but be careful they over charged us a few times by accident."
"I’m gonna start this review with a disclaimer: when it comes to the flavor of the food here, I would rate Tocaya 5 stars. HOWEVER, the great flavor of the food doesn’t matter when you don’t receive the items you pay extra for every time you order at this location. I wasn’t going to take the time to write a review but this has happened every.single.time. I’ve ordered here so while I know this review won’t inspire change in the $14.95/h service standard, perhaps this will keep YOU from being as naive as I am. Thankfully, the last time I ordered at this location (I’m a glutton for punishment, my therapist says I have a problem) I had an inkling to take a photo of the issue that I found upon opening my food after driving all the way home. In the first photo, you’ll see a large sized soup that was HARDLY filled up halfway and even that is being generous. And let’s just say for the sake of blaming the customer for ordering the wrong size like I know you will it WAS the regular size (which again, we ordered a large size but I digress)…the price for the amount of product is laughable. $5 for a regular and $8 for a large and regardless of whatever size the little rat in their hats told them to throw into our bag THAT’S the amount you’re getting? It’s pretty disappointing to open whats supposed to be an entree to find a dollop of soup with some sad, soggy tortilla strips and sweaty cheese. (Also if you take a gander in the back of the photo you’ll see that cute teeny weeny little scoop of guacamole which will run you another $5 and I think that’s ridiculous but it’s worth it I hate to say it) Now listen, I order the same thing every time I come here - Tocaya salad with extra dressing. You’d think that would be an order even someone with their GED could manage but apparently not seeing as the last time I ordered from this location, not only did I NOT receive the extra dressing I ordered (which of course they charge $1 extra for because they don’t make enough money as it is), I ALSO didn’t receive the dressing that’s supposed to come with the salad at all. The default dressing. Couldn’t even throw that in there. Mind you, I’m no Gordon Ramsey but it doesn’t take a world class chef to know a salad without dressing is like a Popeyes biscuit with no drink - dry and disappointing. So if I had two slices of bread and a British accent I’d be calling every person in that restaurant an idiot sandwich. And please make no mistake, that wasn’t the first time it’s happened and you can bet your bottom dollar it won’t be the last! Now that we’ve built up some context, that leads me to tonight. I ordered through an unnamed conglomerate food delivery service that rhymes with “goober”. Thankfully for me, I did receive my order but OF COURSE I didn’t receive the extra dressing that again, I paid extra for becausewhywouldi but here’s the kicker - I also received a poor gentleman named Glenn’s order (thank you Glenn for ordering the same salad as me because in a really messed up turn of events I got my extra dressing) but unfortunately for Glenn my extra dressing cost him his entire meal and I think one heavily outweighs the other. (Sorry Glenn, you have good taste though). So all of that to say, if you prefer dressed salads over sad, dry ones and more than a spoon full of soup for 8 dollars, or if you’d like to even receive your food at all, I would highly suggest skipping this location all-together. Or maybe thoroughly check your takeout bags before driving home? You’re not going to get that extra dressing you paid for though, I promise you that."
