"Great place to work at your car but can definitely use some more tools. The personnel who work there are mostly volunteers and are awesome people with experience to lend a hand if needed. Better than nothing if you want to work on your vehicle."
"Would give zero stars if I could- no OBD reader… how is this possible to run a garage and not have a basic diagnostic tool available for Soldiers and families to diagnose their cars. Guy in the office was rude and stayed on his phone while I tried to talk to him. Acted like he couldn’t care less. Great resource for Soldiers and their Families."
"If I could give 0 starts I would. I must have caught Stewart on a bad day. First time trying to use this shop. From the moment I walked in and introduced myself he was rude and insisted he would shut the shop down early if I was the only one there come noon (even though the hours say 1500). He proceeded to tell me COVID has ruined his life and he doesn’t care about the business or soldiers wanting to work on their cars anymore. He got upset when I asked if he had a certain tool, it was very odd. I just asked if he had a tool to compress brake pistons. He proceeded to go out of his way to offend me after that and keep me from doing any work on my vehicle. Confused by the whole interaction I politely left."
"light bulbs don't work in the drop lights (you need to bring your own). The tools are in disrepair. The person who got the contract to run the center, use to have an auto body repair shop in Sierra Vista. When he got the contract, he had included in the contract to install a vehicle frame straightening rack and a state of the art paint mixing system, the likes of which I haven't even seen in most up to date commercial automotive paint stores. Of course, he won't let any Soldier use the rack or mix paint - those are for his personal use only. To think all the profits from the PX go to support this man and his private personal business. This is the result when you have a lack of (worthless) leadership and oversight."
"This is a great place to do your own work. I got quotes from local shops off post that replacing a lower ball joint on my 09 Corolla would cost $430-$500 from 3 separate shops because their repair logs say it takes 3 hours since they want you to remove the control arm. Well you don't have to if you're using a wrench vs an air tool. I bought the part for $38 and rented the bay at RPM for $10. It took me 45 minutes to complete my task and then clean up. They have tire machines, lifts and most tools you will need. Their head shop consultant is extremely knowledgeable and will assist as needed. If there isn't something in the tool shop he usually has it in his car and is willing to share. Be sure to bring any drills you might need or specialty tools like a ball joint remover. Other than that they have air lines for any air tools you bring with, power, lights, and most everything you need readily available."
