"I’m frustrated…. I’m a new dog owner. I researched Vets and this one seemed a good fit. They’re still a privately owned vet, not corporate. So I take my 8 wk old puppy for a check up. She’s healthy. I get her on the schedule for the parvo vacs. I’m told do not take her on walks, don’t take her around other dogs, no dog parks, nothing till she gets all her puppy vacs. Ok, we exercise her in our back yard, she’s happy and healthy. I take her in for her 3rd vac, she’s 15 weeks. She’s petrified and nips, barely, at the vet. Immediately the vet is like well she’ll need a muzzle. And then asks me if I’m socializing her. She needs puppy classes and to be around other dogs. We explicitly asked when we could socialize her in the beginning, and were told not until all puppy vacs were complete. Now my puppy nips one time, and we’re told you need to fix that and socialize your puppy, and should have been socializing her this whole time. This will be a problem if you don’t nip it in the bud. I’m so confused. I’m not happy with this vet. What do I do?"
