"The office on Emporia is grossly incompetent. My wife had a blood test to find tumor dna. She learned from the testing agency that Kansas Cancer had the results for over 3 weeks. After 3 unreturned calls, the oncologist finally called to let her know it was positive. Upon instruction to call the office after a consultation and setup radiation, she got no returned call which by now we knew was the MO. We made a trip downtown to talk to the scheduler face to face after another 3 unreturned calls. The scheduler said she had sent the order for radiation but we should wait a day or two to call the facility to confirm. Well, she lied to our faces because we called the radiation provider that morning after seeing her and no order had been sent. We got confirmation later that afternoon that the order was just sent. This was several hours after our face to face inquiry. Just two small examples of what the last 4 year experience had been. To top it off after “venting” to the radiology oncologist from another entity who is truly top notch, my wife got a call from KCC dept. head only to hear her be defensive, dismissive and condescending. She tried to lay blame on my wife. We like the oncologist but this office is a joke. I guess it’s the best Kansas can do. We’re outta here! If we must seek any treatment in Wichita it will NOT be at the downtown Kansas Center. Have to wonder how many people suffer at the hands their negligence."
"Been there several times for doctor's visit and now for Chemo Treatments. Very well thought out processes. Very inviting and open environment. I would recommend to anyone that needs this speciality."
"Brought a friend for initial visit. Called for a wheelchair at the front door as instructed but it never came. Friend has a hip fracture so we WALKED to Dr. Dahkils office and waited 1 1/2 hours for a 10 minute appt. Had to ask the nurse to close the treatment room door for privacy. Dr. Ordered tests and the scheduler said ill give you an order and you can just walk into Wesley to get it done. We are St. Francis patients. Went to get lab done in a room with 4 other patients all giving their names and date of birth, again no privacy. Gave them 2 stars because the receptionist was nice. We'll see what future appointments bring..."
"We have been working with Dr. Page at the Cancer Center of Kansas and we really like him a lot. My son, who typically hates doctors, really likes having him for his doctor. My son is 32 years old and has Lymphoma. After chemotherapy he went into remission for a month and then it came back and it is now considered an aggressive form of lymphoma. Dr. Page has worked with him this whole time and he will always answer your questions and go through the PET scans with you. He seems to really care about his patients. My son is is getting ready to start Stem Cell Transplant. We are very scared going into this process. Dr. Page has tried to convince my son he needs to be in the hospital, but, my son is stubborn and refuses to listen. I'm hoping Dr. Page can help him and can save his life. When you are facing a horrible situation like this one it is good to know you have a doctor who has your back."
"I applied for a job with this organization, being a cancer survivor I was hoping they would be understanding of some of my limitations when it came to travel, sick days etc. I initially applied for a job in McPherson, where I live, but upon speaking to the HR person, they wanted me to interview for a position in Wichita. At first I was excited, but after talking it over w I th n my husband, I made the decision to stick with my initial application in McPherson. I write an email and called to let HR know I wouldn't be able to attend the interview in person in Wichita, with plenty of notice. They never so much as returned my email, let alone a phone call. As someone who's been through a cancer struggle and finds it difficult to find work due to after effects, to be snubbed by a cancer center for a job was absolutely appalling, and hurtful."
