"I attended this school a couple years ago. I reflect back on my times here and remember how I broadened the way I understood the world through attending the classes provided. This school is rigourous and attracts an eccentric crowd of people who are often willing to dress up, express themselves loudly, or voice their opinion in small groups. The teachers are well chosen and classes are typically engaging. Renaissance tended to have a homework problem because classes were covering so much information."
"For any of you who are deciding whether or not to attend, read this. This school will chew you up and spit you out. I attended here for all 4 years of high school, and in those 4 years I saw 75% of my freshman class drop out. Getting a perfect grade point average is nearly impossible, and some of the projects you, will do,will completely baffle you. That being said, I wouldn't have chosen to go anywhere else. This school has a culture where if people don't know something they ask to find it out. I went there with some of the brightest people I had ever met, and the school is full of people with incredible work ethics. If you're like me (not particularlygreat student due to lack of motivation) this is the perfect school for you. But if you are the kind of student who had straight A's your whole life and can't imagine getting a B, this isn't for you. And to all the parents who think that they should force their kids to attend, Don't. The kids who don't want to be there don't last."
"Beyond my many sentimental and nostalgic recollections, I will always remember Renaissance High School as the most important institution I acknowledged and attended prior to (and likely even after) entering college. The quality of education here rivals those of most other top high schools across the United States, and Renaissance's focus on a global worldview, college readiness, and its statewide standing undoubtedly reflect this fact. Renaissance High School taught me to view schoolwork as not hard, but challenging, not humanities against science, but one integrated into the other, not mathematics as a subject or chore, but as a language in its own right. Behind the knowledge imparted to us Renaissance women and men was also the moral responsibility we had as a result of acquiring that knowledge. The list of what we reaped here goes on, but this also means we worked harder than most to sow. There were many times when my decision to do the IBDP was reconsidered, when I thought about going to my home school and continuing high school there. There were projects (and grades attached to them) that nearly hit dead ends, teachers and due dates to answer to, Theory of Knowledge class. However, we made strong partnerships with both our peers and teachers, and lifted each other out of the aforementioned situations. We learned about leadership and dedication; the soft sides of education that most other high schools would only caress. After journeying through the International Baccalaureate or Concurrent Credit programmes, we walked onto the podium dressed as Voyagers in our caps and gowns. We had broadened our minds and were ready to tackle the world. I strongly believe that Renaissance was a privilege to its students that few others experience. The name of the school says it all."
"This school is amazing! It will transform your life and give you purpose. I would totally recommend this school for anyone who has or wants a strong academic drive to achieve and succeed. Also anyone who wants to get into a great school. RHS has the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which is the main driving force behind the awesomeness of this school. The teachers are supportive and peers are close with a lot of group solidarity. CAS is a great way to connect academics to the community."
"This school is such a unique high school, and while it is not for everyone, it is certainly an exemplary school for scholars who treasure education and a challenge. Once those who did not quite belong at such a school had come to the realization and left, what students remained were academic, passionate, intelligent, and mature. The teachers legitimately cared about our education and went above and beyond in every regard to give us the education we needed, and are some of the most competent people I know. Renaissance is what unarguably prepared me for my future of attending an ivy league institution, and I do not regret attending this high school for a second."
