"First, Matt, a P Therapist, contradicted my surgeon's instructions on his first visit, which was the day after my knee replacement surgery. One example is that Matt said I could not harm anything on me knee now that the surgery was completed, so I could do as many of the exercises that I wantdc. My surgeon absolutely told me I can damage the prosthetic and to take it easy for the first couple of weeks. Judi, the PT Asst, who was assigned to me for Home Health Care was very professional, kind, timely, and knowledgeable. However, once I started to attend Out Patient PT, I learned that I was extremely behind in my progress. I ended up having to have mobilization done on my knee, which was extremely painful. I did all of the exercises given to me, but perhaps it should have been more aggressive. Last, there was a huge issue with the discharge. After more than 10 days after my last visit, the discharge paperwork had not been completed. When I talked to the person in charge she had no idea what the process was to discharge me. I was unable to start my OP PT until the HH care company had properly discharged me. It took me two days and six phone calls to obtain the discharge. Wth? All this effort on my part after a surgery. Shouldn't an established HH care company know how to discharge a patient to an OP PT facility and complete it timely? It is done routinely. Even though this was not the worse experience, I will seek out a different HH PT company for the next knee replacement I will be having this year."
