"They will string you along and promise you a spot on the list but when you arrive they will tell you that you are now considered a “low priority” after filling out days of paperwork and preparing a huge move all for nothing because they did not disclose certain details of vital information, lack of communication and super unprofessional. Waste of our time,"
"When moving out, they scam you since you are already packed and ready to leave. For pre inspection, they send a sweet lady who tells you nothing is wrong with the house. Final inspection, they send someone who doesn't say hello or smile and starts cutting up floors and kicking the mulch you worked hard to lay down. 900 dollars charged just for mothernature growing grass in the mulch area. 1400 dollars charged for the flooring that appeared fine until the inspector cut it up and claimed damage was underneath. They threatened if not paid that same day they could have our PCS orders canceled. They offered proof that someone is actually going to remove all the mulch, set new netting and then mulch again since that is why I'm being charged 900 for the yard. They said they would send pictures but they never did."
"From our personal experience, housing here has been amazing! Maintenance works fast and they won't close out a ticket until you are completely satisfied. The ladies working for housing have always been kind and courteous, Keesha was beyond helpful! Did two different houses on base (moved Into a bigger home after having a baby) and both times we where charged fairly and accordingly for any damages. The houses are great but the backyards are stunning! Privacy fencing and the yards are huge compared to previous bases. 10/10 will miss the housing on this base."
"I’ve lived here for less than 2 months and here’s some of the Pros and Cons I’ve come across thus far. Con Prior to moving here I called and asked if I could have a hot tub. The housing office told me I had to submit an approval letter but implied it wasn’t a big deal. Once I signed the lease the housing office changed their tune and told me that they have a blanket statement for hot tubs and they deny all of them. I’m upset because I feel taken advantage of. They told me what I wanted to hear to get me to sign the lease then changed after I signed. Con The water heater only supplies about 10 minutes of hot water. I have a family of 4 we have to space out our showers accordingly. I’m going to put in a work order and see if this can be fixed. I’ll update if necessary. Con The kitchen drawers are smaller than most and won’t fit a silverware tray. It’s just annoying. I keep the silverware tray on top of the microwave. Con The closet space is very limited. My wife and I are both military and the master bedroom closet is really just enough for our uniforms. We keep our civilian clothes in a different room. Pro The process for submitting a maintenance ticket is really easy and they’re easy to work with. I’ve had a few tickets in and they are quick to respond and really helpful/nice. Pro The process to submit an alterations request was really quick and easy. I just stopped in the main office and it took less than 5 minutes."
"My husband and I lived on base for 3 years. Our overall experience with The housing office was poor. For starters they automatically take with dependent rate bah from you, even if you don’t have children. We don’t have children so we felt it was a ripoff, but there’s not a lot of other housing options off base so we just stayed where we were. The next thing that occurred was while going through the process of moving out. We were misinformed by an employee at the housing office that we had to pay to have our carpets professionally cleaned before moving out and that they must look exactly as they had looked when we had moved in 3 years prior. Which is unrealistic in general. People have kids and pets and carpet gets dirty over time. We found out later the info was inaccurate due to the fact that the carpet had been in the house for over 5 years and would be replaced automatically with no charge to us. We even stated this to the representative and were still told we had to drop $200+ on carpets that would be replaced anyway. We were then told by a different employee after moving out that we 100% did not have to pay for the carpets to be cleaned and were told the only way to get our money back was to try to talk to the carpet cleaners and explain the situation that “they” put us in. They also charge an insane amount of money for landscaping in the backyards. They will literally charge you for a small patch of grass missing, even if it’s winter time and the grass is dead as it is. Our backyard did need a little work, mostly just some mulch that needed to be replaced and a couple areas reseeded, but they still charged us over $750 just for yard work that wasn’t even close to being worth that cost. Just a warning for anyone living on base. They will charge you outrageous amounts for the silliest little things with fee’s left and right, for even just small amounts of dust on shelves in the garage."
