Reviews
"The DMV here in this building is great for getting your plates or registrations. Usually no lines & free parking in the lot next to the courthouse."
"I Love the location next to Ada County courthouse across from WinCo foods and lots of convenience. All honesty the Constant Mandatory fire drills at any time of the day and night has become a problem."
"These apartments are the ghettos of Boise, the worst place ever: 1. These apartments are hotel setup with long corridors, the front doors aren't soundproof, and you can hear into people's apartments or they hear into your apartment while in the hall. 2. The entire building is infested with bedbugs. Orkin is always at the building, but it doesn't help because the bedbugs are living in the walls. Also, this allows bedbugs to enter uninfested apartments though the electrical outlets. If your apartment is infested, YOU have to pay the electrical bill for Orkin to treat your apartment with heating equipment. 3. The alarms are constantly being pulled and when that happens, not only do the 2 or 3 alarms go off in your apartment, but also the numerous alarms go off on every floor and the decibel level is unbearable. 4. There is criminal vandalism that occurs on a regular basis. Be prepared to have your vehicle vandalized. The buildings' alarm systems have also been vandalized, causing floors to flood and major water abatement and restoration work to be done. Also be sure to leave your bicycle in your apartment because it will be vandalized or stolen if chained to the bike rack. 5. This location is near the greenbelt, which is overrun with homeless, transient, and drug-addicted people. In addition, these people also come into Civic and sleep on the roof and in the stairwells. There is urine, saliva stains, and cigarette butts throughout the stairwells. 5. The parking garage is outrageous because there are no assigned parking spaces for tenants, Ada County Courthouse employees park in the same garage, and BSU uses the garage when there are games! There is no parking for your friends to visit unless they want to pay for parking between 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday. 6. Many people that live here have significant mental health or drug issues and these buildings are government subsidized for low-income people. 7. There are two elevators per building and the elevators are always down. This is very inconvenient when you walk to one elevator, find it's out of order, and so you have to walk to the opposite side of the building to reach the second elevator. 8. These are supposed to be No Smoking buildings, but that doesn't stop people from smoking in the stairwells and even in their apartments. 9. The hallways are horrible because people drop food or drag their trash bags to the garbage room. One day someone threw up and the vomit was in a trail up to and under their door! 10. The noise in the building is unrelenting. Either they are having to replace the flooring in an apartment when someone leaves in an attempt to stop bedbugs or your neighbor will sound like they have a bowling alley or wrestling matches taking place. 11. If you have an apartment that faces the courtyard, your windows will not open. The courtyards are for show and sometimes they lock the doors so tenants can't access them. One of the buildings claim to have playground equipment in the courtyard, but it is a tiny, sad piece of equipment. 12. Mail packages and newspapers have been stolen from front doors because of the hotel-like setup. Forget about having a doormat or door decoration because they're not allowed. 13. None of the bedrooms have overhead lights, the bathrooms have no fans, and the HVAC units take up a lot of room under each of your windows. 14. If your neighbor cooks, the smell will come into your apartment through the exhaust fan in your kitchen. I had to turn my fan on because my neighbor was too cheap to use the fan when they cooked. 15. These buildings are located downtown on one of the most heavily-trafficked roads. The noise from the traffic starts early in the morning so you'll never get to sleep in if your apartment faces the street. 16. The building is being taken over by refugees. Your neighbors probably won't speak English, so when their extended, large family is making a racket, it will do no good to speak with them. Also, they'll prop their door open when they cook so you can enjoy the noxious odors of their foul-smelling meal!"
"This place is disgusting. Management is lazy. And matanace sucks. They are useless. Cant fix anything. This place is a trash hole."
"The best thing about Civic Plaza apts. was my experience with Karlyn Lawrence, Leasing consultant. She was very thorough and quick in getting me in an apartment. Everything went easy and smooth. She is always in a great mood and smiling and has a way of putting a smile on people's faces. Her professionalism is astounding. I can't imagine what Civic Plaza would be like without her."
