"Update: I have lived in this apartment for almost 2 years now. Due to recent circumstances (pipe bursting) I am moving. I must give this apartment credit for allowing me to get out of my lease and having grace with the residents’ living conditions. Once this apartment finishes construction it will be a great place for residents to live and is also located in a great location."

"UPDATE: I was contacted by Regional Manager of Avenue 5 Residential, Taysia Joelson, about my security deposit. I am grateful for her patience and kindness. She was able to get my security deposit quickly and with no issues. I give her 10/10. Her kindness and work to provide awesome customer satisfaction is the only reason I am giving The Vanguard a better review. I was never contacted by them but by Taysia. If The Vanguard did what they were supposed to do in the beginning my review would be a 5 stars. I am thankful I will not have to deal with The Vanguard again. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else because it was surely a hassle. I appreciate Taysia Joelson for her resolve in helping me receive my deposit. Thank you so much Taysia! I moved into The Vanguard in January and ended up moving out a few months after in April. I paid all my fees and gave them a 30-days notice as is required to closeout the contract IN APRIL and have YET TO RECEIVE MY $425 SECURITY DEPOSIT. Move here if you like fighting for your money and like paying high rent. Only good thing they have going for them is their location. I’ve tried contacting them by email SEVERAL times (at first they did reply but after waiting for my check for WEEKS… MONTHS now and trying to get updates on it….. they just stopped emailing all together). I started calling and still no updates. They just keep saying they will figure out what is going on and that I will get a call back later that same day…. no call. I’ve given them my forwarding address a total of FOUR times. DO NOT LIVE HERE! I do NOT like giving out bad reviews but you can only imagine the hassle I’ve been through.. they will gladly take your money but will take months to return what is yours. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!"

"I am so thankful I decided to reside at The Vanguard downtown!! The decor is modern and tastefully done. I love natural and uncluttered aesthetic; this location provides a minimalistic, open space that feels great when walking into the building. Each apartment has an outdoor view (due to the shape of the building) and comes with wifi built into each residence (convenient!). The coffee downstairs is delicious. And, although this apartment does not have a gym in-house, we are linked to an excellent deal with a gym nearby. The price is great compared to similar downtown competitors, and the management is wonderful. Both Jessi and Shane have helped me immensely--they each went above and beyond to provide excellent service to me. It says a lot about a business to have so much genuine assistance--the owner of this facility is lucky to have both Jessi and Shane working for the company. . .I have never been so impressed with the service and care. Just THANK YOU!!! The apartment is fantastic, but the service made me inclined to write this review--I just greatly appreciate all your transparency and kindness!!!"

I appreciate Jessica taking the time to give us a thorough tour of the unit and detailed information on the amenities the Vanguard has to offer. We unfortunately moved in another direction, but if the opportunity ever arises, this will be my first choice!"
